Rep Power: 12 | | What Would You Do?
Hey everyone thanks for stopping by! I need your help on my grow. Right now I'm in the 2nd week of flowering my set of indoor plants. I've got 4 plants after the first week since they started showing sex (2 were already growing pollen sacks) and it looks like I've got 1 female, 2 hermaphrodites, and 1 of a different strain apparently because it isn't showing sex. One of the herms is about 50/50 pollen sacks/seed brapts and the second is mostly female. I was considering moving the two herms to a different location and flowering them but the light would be very limited. I was also considering just flowering them all together and dealing with the seedy product; what would you do? Keep in mind I knew that hermaphrodites from bag seed was very probable when I started. This grow has been on the cheap just to get a feel for things. |

hmmm... I think I would do one of two things. If you are worried about not having enough yield to suit your needs then keep the hermies and the female and deal with the seeds. You could always plant the seeds from them and hope for better results next time. I would tend to lean more toward just keeping the one female, keep her real healthy, and when she is big enough clone her. Even though you will only have one plant, you won't have to worry about having all those seeds. I think I would definitely keep the one girl and clone her when the time is right.

Thanks for the input! I had considered just keeping the one but I thought you were supposed to clone when they are in vegetative growth? And I was going to buy seeds for the next grow of some good strain and use them.

you can clone while in flowering, the clones will take longer to root most times, but I've done it and it worked out pretty good. Just do it soon before the flowers get big. If you are just going to buy seeds the next time then screw it, just keep the one, don't clone it. The bud is better I think of a plant with no seeds... at least I think so. I wouldn't wast the time cloning if you are just getting new genetics anyhow, unless you just want to practice which could be a good idea.

Thanks for the input guys I really appreciate the input. I have decided to make sure they are herms and if they are then just to take them out and flower them in a different room cause I don't want to kill any plant that could produce anything from my first real grow. I've become attached, I even named them!
I have a few more questions for anyone who has the interest in answering them. I saw the thread about the jackass who came in being rude and trying to grow 10lbs *shakes head* So my question first is what is leo? And it has me a little paranoid. I checked several sites before deciding that this forum seemed the friendliest and the most "family" like. So my question is are the popo going to come beating down my door now that I'm asking how to grow my own personal little stash so I don't have to support black market trade?

from my experience if you have a hermie, you usually get another hermie if there seeds are used,a real waste of space.so going with new genetics is probably the right choice.the males you have be very careful with them when transporting them if thats what you plan on doing pollen in a flower room hangs around a long time affecting future grows.

I've never heard that before (pollen sticking around for so long) but it's a good thing to know. It would suck to accidentally seed a crop that was meant to be sinsemilla. I want to do some breeding eventually.

Hey, Tim,
You can even clone after the flowering is done and you throw the plants back into veg stage. I did it with my one female Mango after about two weeks of re-vegging. And here they are, 6 clones, 3 weeks into flowering.

No one will know other than who you tell. This is why the first rule is "Tell no one!"
LEO is interested in big commercial grows, not people trying to make them self feel better or supply their own needs. You are more likely to get busted buying off a street seller than growing your own. Just tell no one, and make sure you are discrete about odour, and what is visible to neighbors. A couple of plants, no, I do not think you need to worry, my friend.
As far as the hermies go, yes, get them away from your females. Also, with the one that only has a few nads, see if you can keep all the pollen sacs picked off the plant. She still might surprise you and go totally female. This happened to me. Once I picked the first nads off, and religiously checked for more, they never grew back and I had some nice bud off that plant. You could of inadvertently shocked them into going hermie. If this is your first grow, this might be the case. And if you try to clone your girls, you could still have more girls to flower and get a higher yield.
Good luck sweetie. Don't worry so much. Just be discrete.
Peace

Peace | Sweet. Thanks. Right now I'm down to 1 undetermined sex which is really short and bushy, 2 fems and a herm which I moved outside lol. She'll freeze perhaps but I'm not risking my three good plants for one herm.
