using heat lamps for babies & youngsters

I'm using a gro-clone groClone.com Plant Propagation - Proven Results
in my attic which is warm right now since it is summer. Gro-clone does not use a cover and has a small pump, as it is specifically designed to not create too much heat. Everything is fine so far.
My concern is: what if the temperature drops? I don't have heat in my attic and usually grow in my garage where it is much cooler.
Since the babies need to be under fluorescents what if I add a heat lamp?

Anyone use these types of lamps?
Is the red bulb better than the clear bulb?

I would not use a heat lamp, instead I suggest:

That heat mat is a great tool, and even in the summer I use one in the humidty dome set-up to maintain a constant temp under the babies.

Thanks, I have a heat mat, but will have to get a thermostat too. Also, looks like I should rig some b/w plastic sheeting since the gro-clone doesn't incorporate a humidity dome.

Hey Bud Boy,Heat is bad for plants,so I wouldnt use that heat lamps.They give off the wrong uv and is hot.Yes HPS and MH are hot too,but in the winter in the attice it gets cold and the HID light would warm the attice.A heat mat for the babys and you are all set. Peace
