Is it worth the risk? I have 6 undeveloped plants that were put out so late they didn't have a chance. They are like not even a foot high. Is it worth taking them indoors and vegging them then put them into flower mode? Or should I just just chuck them aside and start from seed? They're in 8 inch pots so I can only imagine what insects took home in there the last couple months.

logically is possible! I know the time with you but here in southern France it is possible... place in 12H/12 and decreases after a 10h/day!
it will be better than losing the plants ...
if not it works: you lose your plants.
this is not fatal ! This happens ...
but if your plants have insect = Watch your cropping space!
not bring a problem in your box...
Instead of seeing your plants die out = it is + cool to try to save in...

Do you have an existing garden inside? If not, I would say yeah, bring em and put em in veg.
Reason being is the bugs.
You wouldn't want to put your other plants at risk of infestation.

I grew a beautiful sensi star plant out on the lanai (deck) when I lived in hawaii and in veg I put her outside when the sun was out and brought her in under 3 regular cfl's at night. She was my only plant so I didn't have to worry about bugs. She gave a good 3 cured ounces.

We had four plants in the backyard..decided to bring them in to the big garden, as we were in an area with a lot of flyovers (ky cornfields).
Ended up bringing spider mites..ick.
