Could you do it? Sure...my guess is you could get away with it. Question is...why?
If it's in H2O and doing fine (especially in a DWC bucket) it is not any more space to leave it in the 3 or 5 gal bucket than it is for a soil pot.
Odds are there would be a recuperating time for the plant if moved to soil...a week or so of shock getting used to it's new dirty environment...so flowering time might be extended unless you moved it to soil a couple weeks before starting flower.
SO, IMO yes, you can do it, but why?..
