Rep Power: 82 | | Single vs multiple strain grows
How does your garden grow? I like the variety of growing a bunch of different strains at once, however doing a grow of a single, dialed in strain gives me better (more uniform) results.
I am currently growing some sour diesel x purple urkle. I seem to be meeting its needs ok, though it is my first run of this cross. I threw in a Kush plant so that I could have a trial run, while its clonemates are vegging.
So, the SDxPU is looking good, but the Kush is not happy with the environment. Sure, I could try mixing up different batches of nutes, but I am just a lazy stoner......
Some pics of the "dialed in" main strain, and the unhappy Kush:

i like multiple strain grows. cause when i smoke i like to vary strains... like when you eat.. you dont eat the same everyday.. its cool to vary, and its cool to compare strains as they grow too. of course im may cause some dificulties, but then wat fun fun would life be if it was always a walk in the park?

Rep Power: 35 | | In My experience every strain is different, some feed light..some are nute pigs and ireally think one must grow a strain at least 3 runs before they get to know her. Sorta like when I met the Wife.. But just for Kicks I have growing a Sour Diesel x Purple Rhino that runs between 950-1100 ppm if that helps ya. Again its all relative to the enviroment they are grown in and the genetics used. Good growin to Ya Peace

The Kush Look Hungry For More Nut.'s & Light, But Your Other Plant's Are Looking Nice & Perky, I Aswell Like Running Many Strain's, I Keep The PPM's From 600 To 1200, Just Depend's On Which Stage They Are In.

as much as i love to have several diffent strains of bud to smoke i'm well aware of the difficulities a multi strain grow can cause.
First, the space problem, if you grow several strains at once it will always use up plenty of space, more space then you would be using on a single stain grow. especially the veg can tie things up.
Second, the fertilizer strength problem, as different strains have different levels they use. So if you grow some hungry indicas along with some Haze strains you will need a splitted watering of both not to kill one.
Third, if you breed your own seeds it will take at least some major planning before you breed with several strains in your grow if you don't want to mix it all up.
So a single strain grow is easier to handel for sure, especially if you have to work with little space to grow.
And i should know these problems well as i grow Afghan, Roadtrip (both idicas) and a Skunk Haze cross that is a pretty much sativa dominated strain right now

Yeah, Id agree with Hatch on the lack of light but apart from that they look pretty cool. I grew a master kush once that used to have those claw like leaves. I hated it. Didnt like the smoke too much either. Ive never grown jus 1 strain and too be honest its what Im gonna do in future. Im flowering B/Gum and W.WidowxW.Rhino and have Cheisel,Northern Lights and B52 in veg at the moment. Got some Mazar-I-Shariff,The Church and some Trainwreck seeds for the future.I keep afew moms going but only flower one or two strains tops at a time. I give myself too much work to do as it is. Would be alright if I wasnt working, but I couldnt not work. That would do my head right in. I love work and making money. Anyway, good luck with the kush, hope it sees you alright in the end. Redz.....

Some pics of the "dialed in" main strain, and the unhappy Kush: | Have you tried Hygrozyme?(sp) The leaves pointing down indicates a problem in the soil/roots, right? Perhaps your nutes are locked out? Kush likes a tsp (per gal) of worm castings about halfway through bloom.

I prefer multigrain as well.
It gives you a broader learning expeirence which will in turn promote healthier plants.
