Default Re-coop time after cutting clones

I just cut a few clones (to be exact two from each plant) from my ladies and it is about time to start flowering anyday now but is there a recooperation period I should give them before switching to flowering?

I wouldn't worry about it. It is customery to trim a few branches lower down before flowering any way to aid in air circulation. It is not like with people that you cut off a finger or something. Hopefully they will not even notice. usually it has no affect, at least that is what I think.

i agree with jangel, the only thing i'd add is, i'd wait til my cuttings were showing roots before flipping the mommas, if they die (the cuttings), i think it'd be much harder to root cuttings from flowering plants

Wink

You are right, Bozo, if they have been flowering a few weeks, but if they are JUST showing sex, I don't know that it slows them much. I have some that where showing sex when cloned, and now are continueing to flower, smaller, but still flowering on the clones. Check the pic out. This does not usually happen in my opinion. I also have cloned ALL of them before showing sex, then had the choice of wether to keep the sexed clone, (male or female) once the parents show sex, at that point. It gives you more time to sex them but you also have to make sure they are marked very well, so you don't keep the males with the females.

I like to take clones just prior to putting the plant into flower. That way, even though the plant went into flower the day after I took the clones, I've got at least 10 more days I can take more, if desired.

You can root damn near anything, but taking the clone before budding starts is always preferred. I've got a Purple Kush in flower right now that was grown from a rooted bud and the little sugar leaves..and this is one of the healthiest plants I have!

Here it is as a freshly potted clone...notice the frosty trichs still on it..

So, take 'em the day before they go into flower, and you've got at least 10 days to get them rooted before it's too late to take more. Also, since I like to trim the lower branches off about 5 days into flowering, I generally get all the clone material I want at that time, anyway.
