Default N deficiency?

Hi.

Day 20 of flowering.

Is this nitrogen deficiency? I'm thinking of giving an application of 5-1-1 fish fertilizer. Would it help?

looks like some nitrogen lack, i would spray your baby with some mild N heavy solution, flushing it and checking th run off is also a good idea here as the soil pH will be probably off causing this - in general i would switch my fertilizer for flowering too, a 5-1-1 might be good for vegging but is sure the wrong stuff for flowering as it takes more P and K here then N.

oh, you want to add this 5-1-1, it sure would provide some nitrogen if you flowering fertilizer mix holds to little of it - but if you are in a EC or pH based lock-out adding additional fertilizer will only drive the EC up till it literally burns away roots and tissue but won't get any N up. if this is the case you flush and balance your soil mix and in the meantime spay the plant with a light mix of your 5-1-1 fertilizer.

flushed 2 weeks ago. was planning on doing every 2 weeks throughout the grow, including this weekend. Gonna try the foliar spray with the 5-1-1

i've had bad experience in the past with overfertilizing so i've been going easier this time around with the nutrients. Been using a hydro fertilizer, BC Boost + BC Bloom for the past 3 weeks. Typically mix it to 800 ppm when i apply it in water adjusted to about 6 pH

sounds like you growing in a hydro unit, the pH is a bit more tricky then with a soil based grow as the optimal pH range is broader and not as overlapping.

i learned from Fred's experience with years of big hydro systems that it is the best to let the pH travel a bit in order that the fluctuation will prevent lock ups here contrary to soil where a fluctuation causes them.

actually it's a soil grow, i'm just using hydro nutrients. my first 2 grows, i tried hydro and they didn't go well. this one's going better.

i think the mistake i made was going directly to a bloom formula when i switched to 12/12. should have continued with the growth nutrients a liitle longer after switching.

you can see from the pics, the leaves are a bit paler than they should be. lights just came on and i sprayed them down a little.
