This is weird to say the least..
This one hashberry plant came up with 3 sets of leaves -- even the very first leaves. |

ahhhhhh......the wonders of mother nature. Never can tell, may be a super strain genetically. Then you'd have a beautiful "mom".
Is that a good strain quality/quantity wise ? Good luck friend, hope "she's" a beaut

They are called tri-foliates. I have two growing right now and had three last year. I want a male so I can breed for the tri effect.

Does it exhibit peculiar phenotype throughout it's life cycle?
Do you have any pictures of a fully grown trifoliate ?
Did any of them also produce "compound flower heads" ?

Yes, I have grown them to maturity. Only the main stem show the pheno. When you top them you get 3 tops but the tri pheno stops there. Branches are normal as are clones unless you clone the main stem. I Inherited it from a Papaya seed pack I bought from buydutchseeds.com. It is showing up now in the hybrids I crossed the Papaya strain. I have one Papaya X White Widow hybrid tri and a Papaya Purple cross tri.
All of the flowers were normal the only thing different is the extra branch. I had one with 4 branches per node, well almost. A drop of water from the humidity dome fell on it and broke the stem. Hows that for luck?
Heres a picture of one that I topped then tried to kill. One branch is a little shorter than the other two

I am starting to think that this thread should possibly be moved to a grow journal..

If you grow long enough most will get their own "3 leaf clover" sooner or later. Bill you are the first person I know to try to work with it and stablize it as a strain. I agree with somedude that it would make a nice thread or grow journal.

Rep Power: 0 | | I have one going already
I have a journal going. These will be included in this grow. I have 3 clones rooting in one of my phototrons. They are the bottom branches of one of the tris 2009 Bucket Brigade
Here's something to think about. I read that tris will always be female. I dunno bout that, but every one I have ever grown to maturity turned out to be female. The male Papaya plant was normal but must be carrying the gene.

Beautiful plant. The trifolatism (is that a word?) has it fill out crazy thick.

hi! ive got one of these right now too, i posted a thread on another forum and was reffered here. i started flowering 5 days ago, hasnt determined sex yet. i call it mitsubishi kuz when it had its first true leaves it looked like a mitsubishi logo, even the seed leaves had 3 its crazy.
i think mines a different kind than yours though it looks a little different. same tri effect. i found the stalk to be thicker and each node takes a while to develope.
