Default A little Advice please!!

Its me again lol,

Well I received 2 clones from someone who knew someone who knew someone. I have no idea what steain they are and wish I could get you some pics (maybe soon). One plant has narrower leaves than the other. The one with the skinnier leaves had more spacing between the nodes. Please keep in mind they are both in the same soil and under the same light. The skinnierleaf one took off, it is almost 4 inches taller than the other. The shorter one has very fat leaves and the spacing between the nodes is about a quarter to half inch.

The shorter plant has smaller branches and smaller leaves on the branches than the taller one. My question is: is this just the difference between to different strains or does the smaller plant have a problem. Both are extremely healthy looking. I have had them for about 3 weeks the shorter one is 13" and the other is around 17" I belive I recieved them not to long after they were cloned because there were only a set or two of new growth on the leaves that had been cut for cloning. I have only fedd them twice and only half dose of 20-20-20. Funny thing is the smaller plant is so dense it looks like a large bud lol

Any help would be appreciated and wish I could get a camera for some pics.

Thanks,

Madman

sounds like 2 strains man
sativas have long skinny leaves and are tall, sometimes reaching 12 feet and more in the wild
indicas have broader leaves and are shorter in stature

I think what you have there are an Indica, short, fat, broader leaves, bushier and closer internodes, good to grow inside and usually finishes about 3 to 4 ft. or less. And the other sounds like a Sativa, tall, lanky, narrower leaves and can have larger spaces between nodes. Flowers usually later and takes usually longer to flower and longer to finish, and some can grow to 10 ft. Heres a picture of a taller plant, and in the front a shorter bushier plant. Both are the same seeds, just not a stable genus I guess. But you can see the difference. Nothing wrong with the plants and both planted the same time.

hey you, to get 13" or 17" of fresh grown is a singe of stretching and that is mostly caused by insufficient amount of lighting so either your lights are too weak or too far away from the plants. if you us Compact florescent move them within a inch of those plants, you could also top them a bit...

the fatty is a heavy indica and the thin one could be a sativa heavy mix or a quite pure sativa

Lights are staying within 2 inches of the plants. Had to put a small box under the shorter one so the light wasnt slanted so much. They aren't stretching, I think I have what jangle said, one sativa and one idicas. Is it possible to put the sativia into bloom before it gets to tall, say around 3 feet?

Thanks everyone for the input!!

Then you have to top it, and try to get it to bush out more. it will still get taller but not as much like a scarecrow. LOL! Good luck.

i would top them both, less height problems in flower and still high yield as you grow multiple colas, if you top them a few times, first time down to about 6-8" and then flower them as the reach 1ft you will end up with a 3-5ft sativa plant. the indica will probably stay withing 3-4ft, rather 3ft if not to much sativa is crossed in.

lets top like only madman's do and them yield like one as well! and the cuttings you get from topping your babies you can use to clone - if it doesn't work out every cutting it ain't too bad but everyone that roots is a free bonus round to your grow
