Rep Power: 19 | | Light | what do you think?...
I've been looking into a stealthy micro grow and had some great advice already but wondered what was the general thoughts on this light (the 4 tube one)... http://www.growell.co.uk/p/0909/Exol...one-Light.html
Seems to have great lum figures for wattage. I was thinking of this for the flowering section of a micro grow with a probably just one CFL to keep mums ticking over.

let you know that they are great although they don't run as cool as folks
say they do. (they do run cooler than HPS's though, that's for sure)
as far as blooming under this sort of light is concerned, yes, they will work
very well for that, with the caveat that, being flouro's, they still won't have
the intensity to penetrate a thick canopy so, for greatest success with the
T5's, keep your plants small and you'll be very happy.
here's a picture to illustrate what i mean by small plants, and this was grown
under CFL's and not under the superior T5's.
and i've also included a few links so you can do some comparison shopping. Nice one Bozo, I'll get reading.
Was gonna be going for short Indicas and ScrOG as well so should hopefully tick your short box. I see a few differing versions of ScrOG, how would you sum up the process?
'Grow up to screen - Spread out plants to open up to more light - Clip branches under screen (use as clones maybe) - Flower - Harvest - Enjoy!'
Something like that?!

lol, yeah, somethin' like that, although i've not done a SCROG yet.
anyway, here are a few pics of some SCROGS including a few of FreezerBoy's
little SCROG and a link to one of his grows. ...if you're still lookin'
to learn about SCROGging, you should definitely check out his work! DESTROYER on Ice - 250CMH Freezer Grow - International Cannagraphic Magazine Forums | | The Following User Says Thank You to justanotherbozo For This Useful Post: | |

Those light links were interesting. The one I posted still seems to have the edge lumens wise for the size though (where they've listed lumens that is!). If a bit much cost wise in comparison (UK for you!).
Always looking to learn, I'm planning on compulsively researching prior to doing anything! So I'll get on that thread next...
Thanks for the help!

Keep asking those q's strangly! I love to see this ! You will be an exceptional grower in no time!
Bozo's type of growing could interest you as well. He uses a micro SOG, not allowing his plants to get much beyond a certain hieght and flowering them out. It would be a good lesson too, for you to read his new journel, and his past ones' to see how he came through this learning curve.
Love ya Bozo!
Peace

Hi Jangel!! I'm reading my azzoff to get it clear in my head. I've not discounted your T5 route suggestion, just gaining a load of info before doing anything. I have control issues I think!
I actually think the T5 stuff might be a goer as I want to go micro, and Aeroheads PC is utterly amazing. I could scale that up slightly width wise add a carbon filter and perhaps a small room for mums...
Deffo going SCROG though as many (Freezerboy included thanks Bozo!) have proven that's the best for me. Bozo is next on my list of thread reads after I finish the mamouth Aero one!...

You have to decide what way is best for you. You can learn from others, but the final choice is yours...and that is a good thing! We all learn that way.
Have fun! And Bozo also knows TONS of helpful posts all over the place!
He is a wonder! And a dear friend too!
Peace

Right done reading bozo's two top sig threads. Very helpful, deffo certain things to nick inspiration wise. Polystyrene insulation on the cab itself is a great idea. Bozo you have considerably better wood work skills than myself! Lovely finish!!
One thing I'm thinking about, having read Aeroheads PC thread on ICM where he said he had little luck growing from seed, is the need for mothers. Is it generally accepted that the best method is to get a batch of good seeds, grow several until you have a good female, keep her as a mother, clone from her and harvest from those clones? If so would you be better off growing seeds individually if going for a micro setup to stop any females being accidentally pollinated? Sorry for noob questions!!! : )

I usually have a larger grow going, with mixed types so bozo would be the one to answer that for you. His is more like you are talking about.

lol, i hate to do this to ya but here are a few links that helped me.
the first link is to one of DrBud's threads and it was his work that convinced
me that growing SOG in a micro environment was gonna out-yield any other
method. ...frankly, i'm convinced it'd out perform other methods in a macro
environment also.
and as to your questions regarding cloning and such, yes, to reap the full benefits
of cannabis cultivation you need to grow your seeds out until you find the females
and, if you're not planning a breeding program, you cull the males and continuously
re-populate your flower chamber with clones from the best females.
personally, i have mothers for 19 or 20 different, distinct strains. ...lol, variety
is the spice of life. Oh I probably wont go SOG though, as I want to keep number of plants down but I'll read on all the same. Thanks Jangel and Bozo!
