Rep Power: 24 | | Have you browsed the LED club subforum?
Seems a few people are experimenting w/ supernovas. Awaiting results. I left a similar thread regarding 90w ufos but the only post I got was negative for flowering but good for veg.

Rep Power: 0 | | For what you get out of the investment i'll stick with my HIDs and true even though LEDs are much more efficient, i'll smoke em! Plants dont need funky overpriced "Disco" lights to grow good LOL. My friend Arjan in Holland spent buckoo on 2 UFOs and said it was the worst investment that he had made in many many years and trust me my friends he has been Gardening and Breeding Cannabis for many years and knows his s&%t. Many of you already know this i'm sure. By the way guy's it's JMHO Peace, Med P.S. Did you know that the UFOs(and no not the Alien spaceships) were first brought about at Raves before they EVER saw a growroom??????????????????FACT! NOT MYTH.

Nothing but the sun is going to beat HPS, currently.
LED is one day going to surpass HPS for flowering, but that's a ways off.
HPS all the way.

HPS all the way. | Very true my friend. But I highly doubt that the LEDs will EVER be able to match up with the HIDs. I still believe that Metal Halide even smokes LEDs for vegging.LOL

for now, probably, but i think they will surpass hid for veg at least. and think of the energy saved. if they came down in price you could build a cab studded with leds and still use less energy that a hps...

As more and more money is poured into making LEDs more effecient and cheaper to make in order to make them viable in these other markets, we should eventually see them start to surpass HID.

It was energy use and heat that I was looking at. It gets on the hot side where I live so from may till October I have to use A/C to cool it down. When it 95 + out side you cant bring in very much fresh air to the room. Not to talk about the power bill.

It gets up to 95 here sometimes during the day, but night time temps drop to the 70s.
For what LEDs are gonna cost you to match a couple 600s or a 1k on a mover or something, you could buy a really nice mini split AC, very low power usage for the amount of cooling they give out.
