Default Indoor Just starting off

Hi there, I have one or two questions about how to start off. I have six seeds which I planted in jiffies (small soil like things) adn kept them in a dark place, four of them have now poked the heads out. Now I'm going to wait till there all up. But when they are up I was told to give them a week under a 60w florescent because i only have a 400w HPS lamp an that might be too strong for such small plants. My question is do I start feeding them as soon as I put them under the flouresant?? The feeding system is on a timer - how long should I set the timer for?? And how many times a day?? I know there may be many different variables. But any advice would be more than welcome. I'm using hydro set - eb & flow.

Thank You

I would leave them as they are/growing happily in the peat pots until I saw roots protruding. Then I would boot 'em up in the ebb/flow. When you have roots you should be able to give them 1/3 strength nutes.

your choice on the lights. The 400 could be hung high (my choice).... and I would expect the CFL would have to be closer. either way you'll have to make a call and watch em. If you do the 400...hang it about 3 ft above em to start and see what you think...

either way...if they start to stretch and get lankey they aren't getting enough light.

good luck

ww

Lol, knackers are all that's bad in the world. They are a special breed of Irish nomads, who live in caravans and sponge the government dry, they travel al over Ireland and England steeling stuff and causing huge amounts of trouble. They also love to fight.I hate them because when I was about 7 years old, they came to our house and asked for a kettle of water on a hot day. I obliged and gave them a kettle of water, they drank from it then threw the water over me and drove away laughing.

In my adult years, I've had a few run inns with them too. They are scum!
