DWC is going to offer you faster growth versus soil. This will mean shorter veg times and higher potential yields. A well dialed DWC system requires little labor but constant monitoring. The risks in a DWC system are signifigantly higher than soil. Meaning, there are more things that can go wrong to harm your crop at a faster rate than you will experience with soil. If something bad happens (res temp too high, nute lock out, disease, etc) problems will arise quickly and must be handled immediatley. You can do organic DWC but it is a delicate balance and tricky for most people at least at the start. Organics in soil is simple. DWC buckets are hard to move around, recirculating multi bucket systems are essentially fixed, plants in containers can be staked and moved around easily. Nutrients designed for use in DWC (for example a DWC safe carbohydrate) are often more expensive than those used in soil. Turn key DWC systems are expensive, and certain individual components in home made systems are expensive.
Have you grown in a soiless mix yet? It is a hydroponic medium, like the hempy buckets, including rockwool, peat moss, coco coir, perlite...etc...they offer the growth rate of hydro and the ease of use of medium+container.
