How important is my grow room environment?

Maintaining an optimized environment ensures the plant has everything it needs to fulfill its genetic potential.

In terms of growth potential, the environment plays a huge role, in terms of potency, not so much.

A strain with mediocre genetics will produce mediocre smoke even if grown in an ideal environment.

A strain with phenomenal genetics can produce pretty decent smoke even when grown in less than desirable environmental conditions.

Optimal environment:

1. Room temp: mid 70's ºF (low 20's ºC)
2. Temp difference between lights on and lights off: 5ºF or less
3. Relative humidity: 50-70% in veg, 30-40% in flower
4. Ventilation: total air volume of grow space exchanged at least once every 3-5 minutes.

I agree, enviroment is important , but I also disagree. I know genitics plays a role in how good the smoke is, but Ive grown pot from rag weed, that when cultivated and grown in a semi controlled space, was much better than the stuff the seeds came from. I know Im just a novice when it comes to growing but im a pro when its time to smoke. Thats what I think, and Im sticken to it. LMAOROTF

I understand your opinion, but here is my take on it...
The genetics of what you smoked was probaly pretty good, but the commercial grower, who grew it, couldnt care less about quality, so he just grew it with minimal care.

Hence the potential in the seeds was far greater than what you smoked.
