No Bro, That Won't Be To Big, Should Be Just Right, You Said You Have A Hood, Is It Vent-Able??, (If Not??,,You Need To Order One As Well), If So It Will Need To Be Ducted With A Intake & Exhaust That Get's It's Air Flow From Outside The Tent, Same With The Exhaust, Then Its Good To Have A Passive Exhaust Just On The Tent, The Lower You Can Get The Ambient Air It Pull's Into & Through The Tent The Better. Oscillating Fan's In The Tent Are Always A Must.
Well, Best Of Luck, Wishes & Karma On Getting & Setting Up Your Tent..

no the hood i have is not vented. but i got kick a55 mini pc fans that i have built in ducted tubes, the tent im looking into has precuts for intake and exhaust about inch and a half from the bottom and another 2 around the top. the only bad thing is i live on the east coast in the u.s and im using bag seeds that i got from a friend, i wanna order some seeds but really scared about law enforcement getting them or wasting the money and seeds not coming. really wanna grow some GOOD THC bud with a HIGH yeild, any ideas of were i can order some seeds that will ship hidden?

Hatch might reply differently, but IMO you will have to have that air-cooled light in order to maintain a cool enough temp in that tent. A 400W HPS puts out some heat, and by running that air over it and then exhausting it out of the tent you can keep the temps at optimum growing level.
It will also let you get the light much closer to your plants, which equals many more lumens on the fattening buds..
JMHO..

ISO2BWELL Pretty Much Summed It Up, It Will Make Around A 10*f.Degrees Difference In The Tent With Having A Sealed Vented Hood, That Is Ducted Getting Ambient Air From Outside The Tent Pulling It Through The Hood Then Exhausting The Heated Air Outside The Tent And Or Outside The Room The Tent Is In With More Ducting & A Exhaust Fan.
With The Proper Equipment & Done Right You Can Have The Light 5" To 10" Away From The Top Of The Canopy. Quote:
