A GP sponsor carries these. Slightly more $$ upfront...but they won't break down. (I use the cylinders made from the same material and use a wire brush on them to clean em and they don't flake off whatsoever.)

Air Stones - - Alita 3.75" Sintered Air Stone Disc

make it boil....

If those are made of the same blue glued together stuff the trapezoidal aquarium stones are made of you will be buying stones again in less than 6 months.

Sometimes ya get what ya pay for... but YMMV. Please report back on how they hold up.

good luck

I stopped running pure water systems some time ago, but my experience when I did run water systems was that the black (grey) stones as featured in that last pick are the only way to go. The blue ones just break or break down so easily it isn't worth saving a few dollars.

Too acidic?

According to the yield I just took down from 10 - 5 gallon buckets... um...somehow I don't think so.

glad to hear they're working for you. All I know is that the blue aquarium models are pure ca-ca and should be avoided like the plague unless the grower wants chunks of the stuff clogging tubing/drains/etc.

all the best

No matter what side you put these, they work, pricey, Ceramic Air Stones.
This is where there's a diminishing rate of return with sooo much air.
If I put all 6 of my biggest air stones in my 18 gal res it can practically push the lid off with the amount of air it can pump.
The roots float in so much air they never fall

Also by the way...

the way I clean my stones is I soak them in a regular hydrogen 3% solution with water... about 50/50... Cleans them right off like new... I Soak them for like 48 hours

I use food grade 35% for my waters and whatnot though...

that's just what I do personally... just giving some input.. lol

Also I hear its hard to by peroxide food grade now with that New York terror arrest... damn it... have to screw things up for the rest of us...
