Rep Power: 201 | | Hi Lumix. Since activated charcoal / carbon uses surface area to adsorb gases, vapors and chemicals, the smaller the charcoal / carbon particle, within certain limits, the higher the percentage of its mass is surface area and therefore the more effective it is at adsorbing gases, vapors and chemicals. Therefore Phesh would seem to have a cleaner but, less effective form of charcoal packing. You can buy the bulk packs in numerous size grinds and mixes. Peace. |

Is the charcoal you see at pet stores for fish aquariums viable for odor filtration?

^^yes but you may go broke buying enough to do anything effective with it. ^^
I believe odor control is one area a non-licensed patient shouldn't scrimp on. buy a decent filter can and refill it time and time again. a few hundred $$$ is far cheaper than jail.
be safe, all

I have a Uvonair Ultraviolet Ozonators 5000 going and have to make sure to keep it out of the grow room or it will pull not only the odor but taste and flavor of the bud, but dam it sure dose knock out any odor, I can smoke a cigar and the smell is gone in a hour
I need the carbon scrubber too for when I dry so it will not effect the bud like a Ozonator would.
