Default Bagseed + First Timer = more anxiousness

SO a few months back I got the OK from the girlfriend to embark on this hobby.
I started with 4 sprouts out of 7 bagseeds. All 4 made it under t12s and are still alive.
2 of those are pretending to be mothers in the veg side. The other 2 had been put in the flowering room. They are 10 days apart, when plant 1 started flowering, plant 2 went in to keep #1 company.

I made a few rookie mistakes on the flowering side of things. First off, I started them originally in an Ebb & Flow setup. Things were too much of a hassle and so about 4 weeks into plant #1s flowering, I switched both 1 and 2 to soil. I waited another week to give them nutrients, so what you will see is half-assed taken care of plants.

I have only successfully made 3 clones out of sheesh about 40+ tries.
The 3 clones had a week in the veg room after growing roots and are now well into their 2nd week of flowering (3rd week in the room). The clones have been getting Nutrients since starting to flower, So Im expecting them to be a bit better production-wise.

Anyhow, I thought Id share a couple images of what in 10 days will be my first harvest. Im using a 400 hps inside of a homebuilt "cool tube" using something similar to an easy bake glass tube. I have a DIY carbon scrubber variation connected to a 4" inline exhaust.

(below) plant 1 is on the right

(below) plant 1 is on the left

I plan on buying a 6" air cooled hood and 6" inline exhaust fan to improve not only light distribution, but heat removal. Ill probably stick with the fox farm nuts till they run out.

The next thing to figure out is how much my lady and I need to grow to keep our stash full. Im guessing a couple more cloning sessions and harvests to get that dialed in.

whence comes anxiety?....looks like a fantasticly successful first grow to me....a real harvest and plenty of new things learnt...what more could you ask for?

The infinite intelligence within you knows the answers
Its nature is to respond to your thoughts
Be careful of the thought-seeds you plant in the garden of your mind
For seeds grow after their kind...

Hey this is almost word for word from a sutra I heard by Thick Nhat Hahn - do you think buddhist monks are stealing lines from George Clinton now.

ahhhh the anxiety comes from over anticipation. The tops are so very sticky and gooey and I cannot wait. Im also worried about the drying / curing process as I dont want to taste chemicals or chlorophyll.

I have started water feeding plant 1 and plan to carry that out till chop time. I dont know enough about the molasses thing to start that up yet.
Im scared of mold/budrot too. I think my temps and RH have been ok but we shall see how it all goes down.

and hell, I only quote George on it cuz I was 13 when I first heard the album "standing on the verge of getting it on". Either way, I think they have it right.... mmmmm i need to read more on drying and curing to calm my nerves...

I have become a big fan of the water cure as introduced on greenpassion by Videoman.....get's out everthing and leaves a very smooth smoke in 7 days...but the tried and true methods all work well also...the only hard part about curing is waiting for it to be done!

for an update, I cut 2 small buds off 3 weeks back (week 7 of flower). 1 I water cured for the recommended 7 days and then dried/cured. the other I dried on a screen in the dark and then cured.

as expected, water cured nug looked nasty while being tasteless and unharsh.

the normal nug tasted like dirt to me. my gf thought it was ok tasting and preferred it to the water cure.

a week after cutting those 2 nugs, I cut one of the colas and removed the fan leaves and manicured the nugs. (week 8) I hung the branch in an empty mt dew 36 pack box, and it dried for 3 days. I then removed the nugs from the branch as much as possible and put them into small glass jars, that were previously purchased from a local dispensary.

Theyve been curing for 4 days so far and we have tried 2 little nugs.

they are super ridiculously sticky and still a tad too moist for me. the jars smell like mild cut grass still, yet there is a hint of fruity/pine ness.

I popped them into my grinder and again just a hint of fruity pine. The taste is nothing to brag about. the smoke isnt harsh. the high is heady i feel it behind the eyes. within minutes our mouths were dry and begging for liquid. I smokedthis morning around 6:30 and I can still funtion and feel a mild headiness.

Id have to say so far so good.

plant 1 has put on way more trics over the last week and a half and less than 1% are amber. still some clear while most are cloudy.
plant 2s hairs are about 60% red/brown while trics are in the same ballpark as plant 1, although bud size is noticably smaller and less tric filled.

Im in anticipation still and eagerly awaiting more manicuring and tric farming. did i mention smoking too....
