Let me ask this. I realize that it probably depends on strain, but how long between the time as one would see the first amber colored trichomes until which point as all of the trichomes would be amber and getting to the point of diminished potency? A matter of days? A week? Two?

This is a damn good question!

Video...SOMEONE, could you speak to how fast (in general) the trichs go from clear to cloudy and how LONG we might have to the time it's too late? Days, hours?

I am seeing a bit of cloudiness in the stems of the trichs on one of my plants...will (in general, again) that advance quickly, and should I be prepared to harvest in the next day or so?

Yes...I'm drooling with anticipation to smoke my very first home-grown medicine!:smokin:

Again the development will depend on the strain . but i have seen them go from cloudy to start turning amber in a 3-5 days and i like to harvest when 75% cloudy 25% amber ... gives an uplifting high

I agree with Closetdwc.
I have seen it in 3-5 ds as well.

I have also seen it take up to 2 weeks.

It really depends on the strain and the growing conditions.

Wait as long as you can and then wait a another week.
You will be glad you did.

Hey VID thanks for the speedy reply. As far as what strain I can't say I'm pretty sure that they are all indica but after that your guess is as good as mine probably better. Yes I'm using a magnifying glass but I can see these trichs with the naked eye. Some of the shaders have a deep purple tint I heard that sometimes indica does that if its being grown right.

Wink My second grow

This is my second grow and its a big jump from my first dance with the ladies. The first time my vegging fertilizer was a rotting banana at the bottom of a pot that had miricle grow soil. My flowering fert was county issued phosphurus that stuff thats under bridges and on the side of the road. To make matters worse all I had was natural sunlight and it was not as direct as I would have liked it. But sure as good weed stinks it grew and grew well it gave me confidence that if I continued I could get pretty good at this. Well to all of you who do this 1 of the hardest things to learn is harvesting I figured out that what was good to me was what I needed to see.I waited about 9 weeks into flowering and I took it cut the buds and hung them to dry .My stoner buds are telling me everyday techs to speed up drying while I'm already fighting the urge to smoke this beautiful MF. I break down and oven dry my pretty weed it tasted like smoking Kentucky Wonder bluegrass some real schwaggg. This time Iv'e had to learn some basic stuff like a good life lesson PATIENCE
