not from a single day, sure it is some stress but not enough yet to do that.

what kind of time been you using, mechanical one i guess, or? if so get a digital one, my mech timers failed me over and over till i bough a digi for only 4 bucks and that is working fine now.

by the way, you talking about 40C and not 40F? would be some weird heat wave then

look a bit around on your next shopping trip - sure if you look at hydroshops they going to ask premium prices but i bought mine at home depot i think and it been 4 bucks for the digital timer. just look once more, i'm sure you get lucky on that one too

besides, how are you babies doing, still stressed out by the heat?

The BEST and lowest cost timers I've found are at Harbor Freight...

http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/cta...emnumber=95205

That one handles 2 devices and 15 amps. I've got 5 of them and they have always been flawless.

a 1 time screw up, should'nt be enough to stress the plants out to the point of producing male flowers... it will by no doubt stunt the growth somewhat though. and somewhat should be stressed. Make sure your buying a timer that can handle the amount of amps traveling through it, they can get really hot and damaged otherwise.

well, mine just got hand warm at the best and then failed as the mechanics been worn out after only a few day of use! that been at least mine problem with those mechanical ones. since i got the digital timer i have no problems at all. to me it is the "China" effect - all you buy today is made there and trash...
