hi, i'm new to the site, logged on to get some opinons from others about starting and maintaining a little op in the spare room in my house. so i live in a pretty small tourist town in canada, 5000 or so people so getting supplies is tricky sometimes, but, i've managed to get my hands on a 1500w hps setup with balast and all, its not the best i know, the reflector sucks, i'm sure i can just replace that.? i ran it for just a few minutes today and was pretty supprised at how much heat it put out. Is 1500w's too big? and how many plants could be comfortable under just that light if not? the roof is about 8'-9' but you could cook on this bulb after 7 minutes.
i figured i could fit about 3 tables 2.5'x6' and put about 20 plants in each, maybe starting a little smaller for the frist try, adding tables and lights as i go.
theres obvously alot more i''m not askin about right now, this is my main concern, smaller bulbs? more bulbs? i was thinkin of using the 1500w in the middle with a 400w on either side of it for three tables, does this idea make sence?
i'm just thinkin of using the small 2'x4' closet for a veg room, with just one or two floresent setups, and was also going to put the air intake in the bottom of the closet
its gonna be a couple weeks untill i can make enough trips to the city for pvc paper and filters/fans and all that, but any input from anyone would be a great help, i have a good idea of what i'm doing, i just want as much input as possible, and talkin to people in this small of a town is a terrible idea. i've been to alot of op's on the west coast and have alot of friends out there that are involved and could help, but phone conversations aren't always the best idea either. so any thing at all guys, thanks.

Welcome .. sounds like your off to a good start, and knowledge is half the battle .. or is that knowing is half the battle (guess it depends on how much you like G.I.Joe)... anyway.. I'm using two 1000watt HPS and as you can guess heat is half my battle.. 1500 watt is alot of light and heat.. so as you know I'd start there.... no, i have no pics because i haven't really started yet, in the planning stage right now till i get to a city. i was plannin on some simple homemade eb and flow hydro tables, but maybe i could keep the plants in dirt pots closer to the floor and away from that heat? is an 8' ceiling going to be to low to run a 1500w hps without burning buds? i like how much light it puts out, the heat just scares me a bit,
