| Hi everyone, So I started growing three plants about two weeks ago. Currently they are doing well and growing like fiends, however, I have noticed that they smell like syrup. Is this a normal thing? | ||||||||

| check if its coming from the dirt or the plant. normally most vegging plants don't smell like more than a grass clipping or something of the sort. i had a problem with some dirt i was using that smelled like something fermented so i tossed it and cleaned the pot. if the plants look healthy still you can rinse the roots clean and carefully transplant into a clean fresh environment. good luck.

| the syrup smell shouldn't come from a vegging plant normally as sentravapor said. Normally it is either the soil or the fertilizer that causing the smell in this stage - my BioBizz causing a sweetish salty smell, feeding molasses leaves a caramel smell for about 2 days as well. As long as the smell doesn't make you sick or tips your neighbors off, i would just crank the fan up and check for proper ventilation from the outside, as this reduces the smell a bit.

| as long as it is not completely broken off, it will be fine. Do some searches... some people break them on purpose to crop them. They will be fine, and mostly likely stronger as a result.

| you can use molasses on the broken joint, itll grow into a knee. Molasses is also great for your plants overall health, and resin production. I vow against honey or syrup because its a natural antibiotic and it kills all the good micro organisms in the soil and plant. | ||||||||
