Rep Power: 6 | | repotting too early
Ok here it goes Miracle grow organic potting soil mixed with pearlite, fox farm nutes, used sparingly so far. well water good ph.4 40 watt 4' flourecents. I wanted to see if roots were ok and see if plant needed repotting. pull it out a lil and blam it fell apart on me!!! (tears welled up it was my biggest). put it in bigger pot anyway. I read it may slow top side growth. could i add rooting hormone to soil or water to get them rooting quicker? went from 5 1/2" pot to 8". Thank ya'll

How old are these plants?
You may have repotted too early if the 5.5 incher wasn't full of roots/the medium wasn't holding together before upsizing. This will cause slower growth because the plant will try to fill the rootspace and will utilize a lot of it's energy doing so.
More rooting hormone won't help, IMO. What you need is MORE LIGHT. Plants process light and make roots/strems/leaves/buds. Too little light and all of this SLOWS down. Adding ferts or snake oils or hormones will do nothing (IMO) but load up yer soil and possibly...stunt growth even more.
you'll be OK in the 8" er....just be patient and things will come around in a few weeks.
good luck

IMO= "In my opinion" IMHO "In my honest opinion" SNAFU (I bet you know that one...LOL)
I veg @ 24/0. Watch for heat early on....and make sure they're AOK....then just pound the H*** out of em with light.
If you do want to work on the roots and give them all you can to try to make more root mass...look for mychorrizae....like subculture from General hydroponics...or Great White (or any "Plant success" manufactured product)...or EA/EN liquid.
ANY beneficial microbes or myc package you can apply will strengthen your plant and help it become all it can be. Do you know what products i'm talking about?
if not...I'll pop a few links

Also, DO NOT USE FERTS WITH THAT SOIL!
You will burn the h out of your plants if you do.
People that use that mix for MJ either say it is the bee's knees or it burns the h out of them. The reason? This soil already has all the ferts in it you need. If you add more food to the soil, then you are double feeding them and they will get burnt.
peace

Jangle TY have only used nutes 2 x's at half strength. No burn yet but will stop!! I am going to Charlotte to see if I can get FFOM for my next repotting. should I get rid of all the MG soil when I repot or just plant them in the FFOM with root ball included

No you would do more harm than good removing the soil. Unless it just falls off, but try not to damage the roots and do this after watering well the day before. This will help the soil stay together when transplanting and also roots will not break as easily if full of water. Just hope they have used up most of the nutes in there and carry on. But only use 1/4 strength to start, so you see what it does, and raise it slowly so you do not burn them.
Good luck!

nope...the gnats won't know it's even there. (good call on the diatomaceous) Stiicky traps and mosquito dunks/bti products are the other controls for gnats...
It's safe to use all these products. They aren't "expensive" considering what they do and how they can positively affect your yields.
one week after applying you'll see the difference........

ww | Hey WW! So that mosguito dunk does it work on the damn gnats? I just can't seem to get rid of these darn things....and where do you get mosquito dunk from?
One other thing: Last winter many of our members had problems with fungas gnats after starting with MG organic. What I have concluded due to how widespread it was, that the soil is mixed in one place and then shipped from there. So the damn fungas gnats where in the soil. I truely beleive this, as it was just too widespread and consistant to be otherwise.
Good luck

I dunno where you'd get mosquito dunks there, jangel.....maybe "home Depot" type stores or garden centers?
Online....look for "Bti"....I buy it in a brand called 'micro-lift" that makes all sorts of pond supplies/equipment.... in a hydro store it will be called gnatrol....
there's also Gognats from the same folks that make earth juice. not as effective,,,but puts a hurt on em.
Yellow stiicky traps get the flying ones.
bti tricks the larvae in the soil..they think it's food..eat it...and i believe...EXPLODE.
I agree. i've seen gnats hovering around the MG at home Depot...but I've seen em in OCEAN FOREST and in Biobizz ALL MIX too. ya never know...and ya just needd to have the gooods ON HAND to foight em
I urge ecveryone to get some Bti...keep it handy...and simply annihilate the gnats on first sight when you DO get em.....and you will. (like MITES, they go with MJ like a good bong)
