If I pollinate a female auto ak47 with the pollen from a male auto ak47, will the seeds that come from the female grow into auto ak47 plants?

I ask this because, when I was a kid, we were taught that if you plant the seed from a hybrid tomato, you are not likely to get a plant that produces the same kind of tomatoes.

my guess is yes you will very probably get the same strain. but there may be variations. its not an F1 hybrid if thats what you are asking. those you only get if you breed the original parents again. but the weed you will get will be autoflowering as well and have all the same genetics beacuse you are inbreeding. you might get a few different phenotypes though. thats not necissarily a bad thing.

anyway theres only one way to know exactly what you will get...

I did a seed run on the AK-47 Autos about a month ago using 2-female and 2-males. I just let them pollenate each other for 4 days after the male flowers started to open. Holy cow I ended up with over 1000 seeds, I could not believe it really didn't want that many. One of the females looked just like the seed co. pics and was 20" tall the other female was only 13" tall and looked like lowryder#2. I will be germing some this weekend from each plant to see what I get. I'm hoping the plants will come out like the mothers but we'll see . I'll let you know.

That's what the breeders do.. they take the best females and males and over time it becomes more stable.

yes its called inbreeding.
what you may find is that you may get more than one pheno from your experiment.
that is you may discover traits from the parents or grandparents of your particular strain.

be on the lookout for particularly good phenos for future breeding as there may be differences in size, smell and flavour, as well as growth patterns. future inbreeding and backcrossing of particular traits will tend to stabilize them.

... have you thought of adding some of your 1000's of seeds to the GP OGG 09? (overgrow the gov campaign)

I too am trying this this year. I have some auto AK-47 germing now for breeding for a friend and myself. This is a wonderful genus for med patiants. I have 5 seeds set to germ so I will be doing this in my journal. Just set them to germ last night.

Looking foreward to hearing what others say about this.

Count me in. I've got some auto Diesel Ryders going. I have a couple other strains saved for later. This is a learning experiment with time only for these few. Probably better this way or I'd have crosses of crosses. I really appreciate the knowledge folks.
