Default Over $700+ to start growing omg...

Is this normal to have a bill over 700 to start growing at first? This is a huge amount of loot right there lol. That includes my lights, grow box, fans, seeds, and timer, everything but my soil and nutes. Anyone else have a crazy number like i do for starting?

Of course we do. I bought my seeds first. LOL! 400+ dollars. My big light 350$ then my vortex fan 200$. T-5 lights 200$. And so on. It adds up but most are one time purchases. Now I have my genetics and my lights. Plus rewireing my basement. plus plus plus. That is why growing with CFL"s is so popular. It is cheaper for the newbs and will produce.

But think of all the money you spend buying mj? I know here, 200$ per oz. Doesn't take long to cancel out what you spend on a set up when this is what we pay.

Peace

Yes that is a lot of money and am sure that is nothing compared too what some spend, but look at it as an investment, better than an IRA, 401k, CD's and certainly the stock market...LoL... What you will get in return is priceless..

Give a man a fish, he eats for a day, teach a man to fish and he eats for a lifetime..

yeah.. I spent better than that to get up and running. I look at it as an investment, and down the road it will pay for itself in me not spending money on over priced weed. It has gotten ridiculous here..

Damn Dude...you got off cheap!

In my first 30 days of indoor growing I would venture to say I spent $3000+ on just lighting and grow equipment + materials to build the grow room . Since then Lord only knows what I've spent on airpumps, water pumps, airstones, ballasts, lamps, fans, nutes...you know, "stuff" you just GOT to have!

Based on what amounts of MMJ I was using at the time, I figure that all that equipment paid for itself in the first 12 months, so, as of today I am growing in the GREEN!

Most can not smoke, and be fine. If I don't smoke I'm not fine...sickeranhell in fact, so raising my own bud and being able to target helpful strains (vs. buying ??? off the streets) was well worth the small short-term investment in equip.

JMHO

I've got more than a couple grows under my belt, and as such have lots of equipment laying around, but when I designed my new grow room, not including the stuff I already own, lights and so fourth, the new grow room has set me back somewhere between 1100 to 1500. It sure does add up, but is a hell of a lot cheaper than buying the weed, and ten times more satisfying.
Peace

ONLY $700, I got my visa bill the other day it was over $1300, and that was just from the first bill from the construction costs. Also I went the cheap route by buying ballast kits and diy cooltubes. It never ends. But its still cheaper than going to the clinic once or twice a week. The only good part about the 1300 is that 1200 will be paid by George Bush .

Like everyone says it is an investment, I'm sure I'm over $700 easily. I'm startin' to think I'm stupid for only growing 2 plants. It will take forever to break even at this rate!

cheers,
R
