I am about to set up a small grow room and have funds, electrical and construction knowledge enough to do my own work as opposed to buying prefab.
What I would like to know is is there any benefit to not only having the mandatory upper/ceiling adjustable height light( for this I am not using CFL bulbs) but having more lights(CFL) on the surrounding walls?
If so would these extra wall mounted lights be used at all the same times the adjustable ceiling mounted one is on?

Yes and yes.

The extra side lighting will help those little side buds be all they can be.
If you can cool it, use it.

Was/am thinking of doing the same thing myself. And was wondering how plyable and useful they would be. Thanks for posting the question and thanks for the answer.

Also consider the fact that you can get more light to more places by using more bulbs.I have a preferance for the smaller (23watt) bulbs over the larger ones for this reason.Its easier to cool too.
