Default Light Cycle Question

Hello

Simple sounding question here, but I'm not at all sure about the answer. And somehow I suspect I may get several opinions as to the correct course of action to take... We'll see.

Let's say I have a few plants in a flowering cabinet, and since it's been hot this summer, the lights go on at 9:30 PM and go off at 9:30 AM.

But now the weather's cooling down and it would be great if I could switch the light cycle to be on during the day instead of at night. Maybe 11 am to 11 pm. Can I do this suddenly, or should I shift the cycle by a few minutes a day? Or should I turn them off for a day and then start up again with the new cycle? I don't want to confuse the plants about their gender or anything...

I'd love to hear what you guys think about this.. Thanks in advance for the replies.

best way to do it would probably be the the minute by minute changeover. although to be honest if you switch it quick it probably wont stress the plants too much (as long as they arent too late into flowering). i probably wouldnt try the quick switch if you are past the 2nd or 3rd week of flower. if you want to do the gradual change i would do 15 or 30 minute change each night.

Okay, When You Switch Them Over Don't Let The Light Come On At 9:30pm Like They Have Been But Stay Blacked Out Tell 11:00am Then Back Off At 11:00pm, And They Will Never Know The Difference, I Have Done It Many Times & They Never Miss A Beat..

leave them in the dark until the new time cycle starts. they require at least 12 hrs dark, they won't know that its longer than normal once. then just set it for your new times.
