Default I have a seed

I harvested a plant a few weeks ago. I left some small popcorn buds, to see if they would become more powerful. Indeed, they did. When I plucked a couple of the buds to try, I realized that this was the last of this strain (unknown) that I had. I placed the plant in with my vegging plants. It is finally beginning to show some new, weird growth. This is a good thing. I hope to clone it.

Now, as for the seed. I let the buds I picked, dry out on a paper plate. When I broke them up, to smoke them, I discovered a seed. Nice and plump. Nice an dark. I have had a few seeds from my other strain (sativa), but this is the only one from this strain.

My question is: Will it germinate, now? Do I have to dry it? Any thoughts or recommendations?

I'm confident that I'll be able to clone the plant, but I'd like to see what type of plant would emerge from this seed.

Pappy

Pappy.....The seed may or may not be viable. No matter, if it grows you'll have to wait to find out if it is a strong plant or what.

The plant you have that you are re-vegging however, you already know it is a strong phenotype and produces well.

Although, the plant when it re-vegges will look weird, the clones will look normal and be good producers.
Peace

hey Pappy...i don't have much experience with this, but from what I have read the more you mimick natural conditions the more likely the seed will germ...this would mean a complete dry and maybe a cold snap in the fridge depending on the origin of the strain....I have noticed this to be true for non-mj annuals though

the seed is definitely ready to go, only thing is if it came outta your buds that means it has a hermaphroditic trait. Watch out flowering that plant around the others. You can still grow it out and get smokeable buds, Just chop off the balls when they start to develop; Or flower it and get feminized seeds(which still have the hermi trait).

Pappy was this from seed and did you have males as well in that lot of seeds? If so that could be where the seed came from. Just trying to brainstorm here. One seed seems kind of strange in a lot of sensi buds. whatever, good luck with it.

Peace

It is from a hermie. I found a hermie, with one unopened nut. I plucked it. A day or two later, I found another nut. This one was open; damage done. I didn't see any other evidence of hermies. I know it will be female or hermie. I was just wondering if the seed has to "season" or not. The plant is beginning to show some new growth, so, I'll be able to take cuttings and continue this strain. But, I'm thinking this seed should produce a nice cross. The two plants from which I took cuttings, were from the same bagseed, but, quite different. The one with the seed is a wide leaf, heavy indica stone. The other, is a long, narrow leaf; more of a cerebral buzz. I really have to get some known genetics going, sometime. A guy gets tired of smoking the same old thing.
