| I just got an Aerogarden Pro 100 and just want to make my own crop. Maybe an ounce every couple of months. I'm 55 years old and haven't bought weed since '79. I would like to get I would appreciate any help. I'm very confused about the nutrients (Nutes?). Should I use 1 tablet or both? If not the nutrients that come with the Aerogarden, what should I use? I purchased some indoor seeds from Nirvana but have recently read about lowryder seeds. Does anyone have any information about these seeds? I just want something that will give me my own stash. Any help would be appreciated! | ||||||||

| plenty to pick from - just pick something that is for indoors and stays small...the seed descriptions on the site tell you all that....I think most everything is good. I will look at the aerogarden site http://www.aerogrow.com./ and see if I can tell how adaptive it is to MJ Welcome to GP....when you have a chance look at the FAQ and stickies....it will give you a great deal of useful info and help you ask more specific questions that will give you a better responce... Best of Luck and Welcome again! Last edited by scott06; 07-28-2008 at 07:08 PM. | ||||||||

| after doing a little more research I would say that a bucket and a light would be better for growing MJ...but I think if you use as directed and go with a very small autoflowering plant like feminized lowryder 2 (which I would only recommend for this set up) you may get some OK smoke but not much and not anywhere near the best...The nutes/ferts seem ok but not necessarily matching MJs exact needs...the bulb are 2 42w cfl's,which is ok but still fairly week I hope it works great, but if it doesn't I think you could grow more/better MJ with just one pot, feminized seeds, and one big 125-200w cfl...the aero seems like it might be good for starting plants or cuttings but not really made for MJ from my perspective....see what others think before you take what I say too seriously. | ||||||||

| here are two threads from people that seems to have some success with it http://boards.cannabis.com/growing-i...ro-garden.html The AEROGARDEN! - Marijuana Growing and some people growing on youtube after looking it seems to me you can grow MJ with the aerogarden but it doen't make sense w/o modification of the lights and nutes - I really hope I am wrong on this - it would be great if you could grow at least some midgrade smoke Last edited by scott06; 07-28-2008 at 07:42 PM. | ||||||||

| hey, welcome to GP I grow in the aerogarden. I dont PREFER it, but I use it for germination and the first couple of weeks, then it's on to DWC. You see, the Aerogarden gives you a quick jump on things, but the resevoir isn't big enough to support any real growth. After all, it's just one gallon. With the DWC buckets, you can really get some bud producing. Look up my thread "The Aerogarden: Making It Simple For Growing", to see my last grow. I'll be starting another one soon. ![]() As far as the tablets go, just use one at a time. The nute tablets they give you are good, but STRONG, so just one at a time. I use the 'Gourmet Herb' tabs for vegging (because of the nitrogen content.), and the 'Flower' tabs for the flowering cycle(because of the phos content). Oh, and split the grow sponges they give you completely in half, as they dont make it easy for the roots to push through as they are. You need anything else, just ask. cheers, theFATMAN | ||||||||

| Thank you! I'm new to this. Thanks much for the information on the nutrition tabs. I live in a small apartment and can only use the Aerogarden Pro., so it doesn't matter as I just want to grow my own and want to get off of alcohol. Quote:

hey right on, no problem at all. One thing with the Aerogarden, if you're just gonna use it by itself, is that you have to think small. Go with a strain that will be bushy with short inter-nodal spacing as dominant traits, a indica heavy strain is the way to go. If you dont have the luxury of choosing and buying a strain, then you will need to focus on training them to grow short. I suggest FIM'ing them and using the SCoG method to keep them short and sweet. ANother way to go is the 'bonsai' route, there is a thread on it here i believe. Also, be prepared to get additional lights as well, just pick up some cfl's from Walmart or a local drugstore. The overhead lights that the Aerogarden come with arent sufficient enough lighting for the entire plant, so you have to improve on that. ![]() That's all I can think of for now, if I think of something else, I'll let you know. cheers | |||||||||
