not sure what the temps would be... hard to speculate. Here is what I did. I used a small fan mounted directly above my light to blow over the hood and down toward the plants, then had another small fan on the floor blowing hard up toward the ceiling. I found that this would all but eliminate the "hot spot" directly below the light and I could control the whole grow temp better because there was consistent temp to begin with. I would recommend getting a couple little reptile aquarium thermometers if you are short on cash and sticking them to the wall of your grow at different heights, then you can better avoid a layered air issue where you will have different temps at different points in your room. That's really all I have on this but I do know if you don't have to worry about noise being an issue than you can get a cheap inline fan from home depot (thirty bucks I think) and some cheap flex duct and make a hood vent fairly cheaply if that is an option for you. Hope that helped a little.

as far as distance goes, put your forearm next to your babies so that the inside of your forearm is towards the light.. if it's too hot for the inside of your forearm, it's too hot for your babies.. easy peasy (some people say use the back of your hand, but my hands have a fairly high heat tolerance so it's not really a good 'gauge' for me)

I just looked at homedepot.com and found a 4inch inline fan for 14.00, and a six inch for just under thirty bucks. They are in the heating and air conditioning section.

How hot will the LIGHT get? How hot will the ROOM get?
Whats the temp in there now with no cool air? Whats the air temp that you will be bringing into your room from the outside?
Perhaps before telling us how you DONT want us to answer, maybe a more accurate question of what you DO WANT will be more benificial.
goodluck with your quest...and there is a TON of info in the FAQ section.

not sure about the humidity issue, might want to check the interent for that info. but if it does raise the humidity, bring in a dehumidifier which will solve that issue as well as raise the room temp so its not near/below freezing.

If you plan to grow more than one crop...I'd pass on those Casa De Pot fans as they are WAAAAYYYY underpowered and are basically worthless for moving a good amount of airflow.
Spend the extra $$$$ and buy on of these Valueline 6 Inch 435 CFM Centrifugal Inline Fan - Plantlighting Hydroponics
I've been at this hobby for over 20 years. When I started I tried to go CHEAP but in the end I spent 2x as much buying crapola and stuff that wasn't MEANT FOR GROWING...trying to workaround spending the big bucks/etc.
buy quality stuff the first time and you'll never have to look back
good luck

That's so true WW.I did find a place for low cost fans.{Surplus center.com} I got a 200cfm and a 300cfm fan from them, the 200 was $9.95 and the 300 was $19.95 both acv.I have been using them for 3 years with no problems. It's like they say you go cheap you grow cheap. In the long run it pays to get the better fans and grow stuff.
Peace
