does anyone have any suggestions for some high P organic "additive". Blood meal seems like it's a little bit touchy and i have had lots of people tell me to run for the hills from bone meal (mad cow, blah blah blah)..
I have a bunch of this and some perlite (so far)
I'd like to make up some nice OG dirt just for the simple fact that i'm kinda lazy like that (and it's just better for your crop)..

Yes sir,Bone meal(p) is a great food for your plants.Blood meal (n)is strong and if you mix to much in your soil you will burn your plants for weeks
I often just top feed with Bone meal, blood meal and Bat Guano.
I use a 1qt. tupperware filled with BONE meal.Add 2 teaspoons of blood meal and 2 teaspoons B.G.
Mix it up and put a spoonful on top of your soil maybe every 2 weeks or so just before you water.
Wormcastings are a good source of P.too. add 20% with your mix.

wormcastings and guano seem to be difficult to find in my area and i really don't want to pay shipping on something like that.
lil paranoid about looking in the local hydro shops - I'm all legit, but what they dont know sure wont hurt me (or my family)

I wouldn't be afraid of bone meal, all those fertilizers are sterilized anyway, or they couldn't sell them. Also, just read Wal Mart is carrying worm castings as well.
Check out this link, it's where I finally came together on my mix, lots of options here: organic goodness... - Marijuana Cultivation - Growery Message Board | | The Following User Says Thank You to insub4u2 For This Useful Post: | |

Look around in garden shop, nursery, most will have worm castings. The hydro shops sell it for around $7.00 or $8.00 for a 2 lb bag I got a 5lbs at the nusery garden store for $7.75.You can make a tea with the worm casting. One table spoon to a gal of water or use it as a soil topping. It get some every time you water.Peace

You can make your own castings, too. Worms eat old newspaper. That's how they are produced, commercially.

I seen a fellow doing this on tv awhile back. I was actually gonna give a whirl but have not yet. It looked very simple. I believe it was two rubber made tote's . One used as a catch basin and the other drilled full of whole's then set inside the catch basin tub. Can't recall exactly what he used for his medium. I do remember it was in layers which included the use of news paper. Every morning he would go out and feed his worm farm the composting materials he had accumulated throughout the day. If I recall this was an article they had done on him on the weathernetwork.

My wally world has worm castings but they are listed as 0.5-0-0. 3.98 for 10 pounds. I will soon have most of the pallet in my storage shed
BTW the brand of wormcastings is DMF

Could anyone tell me if its a bad idea to have my mother plants in my veg box in soil, root the clones in rockwool and flower hydroponically? does it make a difference to the clone if its raised in a different media than its mom? reason being,it just seems that soil in a compact space would be easier than hydro,my box is 38"x43"X38

Where the mother is from, is irrelevant. Some strains are easier to root than others, tho.

Many hydro growers keep their mums in soil. They do not need as much care as a hydro mum will, and it will grow slower.
Peace
