During the first week of flowering 12/12,
do I continue to use :
i) Veg feed as the cycle of the plant is actually changing to flower?
Or
ii) Switch straight to flowering feed ?
All responses welcome

Rep Power: 201 | | I switch to blooming nutes when I flip the lights. Anything with Nitrogen will slow down the transition to blooming and lengthen the growing time. | | The Following 3 Users Say Thank You to Zigzagman For This Useful Post: | |

My guess would be it depends on the nutes you use. I use Biosevia Grow and Bloom and their official feeding charts suggest i feed half strength of both for the first 2 weeks of flower and then switch to full strength Bloom only.

I think one of the most common errors growers make when switching light cycles is immediately switching nutes. The transition should be more gradual. The plant is still growing and wants to uptake N the first couple of weeks into flower. If you do a more gradual decrease in N and increase in flowering nutes you should see a healthier, bigger and greener plant at harvest. Most growers who post about too much yellowing in late flower and leaf drop in beginning flower have done that immediate switch in nutes. This obviously only holds true if you are feeding when watering as opposed to amending your soil so as not to need further nutes.

I mix my soil differently for each stage. My major nitrogen is in the soil. By the end of flower you want all the nitrogen out of the leaves so your weed does not taste or smell like hay. Hence flushing for some, just water for others, like me. Harvested bud from a still nitrogen rich plant is not as sweet as it can be.

I grow medicine, so I would never use chemicals to feed. I tend to back off on nutes for the last couple of weeks in flower, but don't starve my plants by flushing when they are wanting to put on the most weight.
