Figuring pot size by dimentions

Anyone know of a "formula" for figuring pot sizes in gallons. I have some pots from wally world and it doesnt say what size they are and I was just wondering if anyone knew a formula to figure it out ?( ie..8" dia. x 9" height=xxx)

if i cant figure the diminsions of any givin pot..i take a 1gal tea holder an scoop out the perlite an keep track of how much i use..not a big math person..lol..peace

231 cubic inches per 1 gallon. so multiply all the dimensions and thats your cubic inches, divide that by 231, and thats how many gallons. ie 10" x 5 " x 5" = 250/231 = 1.08 gallons. or 20" x 10" x 10" = 2000 / 231 = 8.65 gallons.
