So I was looking for a specific plant that I couldn't find anywhere except one place that is usually the haunt of younger crowds and I was iffy about it, but my want outweighed it and I went for it. So far so good, no problems yet but... They sent me a freebie. Great, a freebie...it's dna lemon skunk...great again. It's one little stinking feminized seed. eeeerrrrrrkkk (puts breaks on). I have never touched fem'ed seeds before. I have always been told to stay as far as possible from fem'ed seeds because they screw up the genetics and hermie out on you. I want to grow this seed, but I'm afraid it'll hit my other plants. I can wait till my current grow is finished and then throw it in 12/12, by itself, but I want to know what every one else experience is first. I don't know how to reliably remove pollen from my grow room if it explodes either.

Send it to me, I will grow it for you. Ok seriously now.
Plant it. let it grow. let it flower. If its a hermie you will see the little balls develop on it. Then decide if you want to sit there and pick them off and watching it everyday for new ones, or just rip the whole plant out and throw it in the worm bin.
You may wind up with a outstanding mother plant. You will never know till you grow it

Agreed!
Ive only grew out 5 fem seeds so far but 5 out of 5 were FEAMLE not hermie! NO BALLS IN MY ROOM! I also know someone who has grown for 10 yrs now using ONLY FEM SEEDS, they have only had a problem out of 2 of the plants, in 10 YRS! I say, go with Fems, ESPECIALLY if your a NEWB! Theres nothing more disappointing than growing your first ever plant, only to have it flash you some balls! AAAHHHH JOINTGIRL

I've grown fem'd and non fem'd seeds. The fem'd are very convenient. Also, I haven't had one be anything but female. It really just depends on the strain / breeder.
And since I've grown non-fem'd seeds, I've had a few males crop up too. But, I took care of them before they had time to produce pollen so they were never an issue either.
Basically, if you can keep an eye out, you will see the pollen sacs long before they are an issue giving you a chance to do something about it.

Hey, I got 3/3 saying go for it. Guess that settles it. Now that I read my post again I guess it was a little vague. I was smoking the jillybean this afternoon, and think I polished that sack off a little too quickly. My main questions were...1) how often do fems go hermie on you, and 2) how to you clean up the mess when they do. You have answered my questions tho. I have grown a little in the past (nothing special), just starting up again.

Yeah. Just find some moms of a few different strains you like and grow clones from them. Fem'd seeds are fine for the job.
