Hi again sweetie. First off for fungus gnats, here is a link I saved to read myself as I think I have those little blitters. FUNGUS GNAT MANAGEMENT I haven't read it yet, but hope it helps.

Next, get smaller pots as I told you before. They don't look well. Kinda looks like I do today, a little lime green around the gills! LOL! I have coughed so much I put my back out. damn. Also, what soil DO you have those kids in ? And unless you have a sealed area, like a box or cabinet, you are not going to get much from the co2 device of yours. I admire your enginuity though. Very good work.

We will get you there, girl. Not to worry. Cute kitties. I have 2. One I would like to string up as it isfrom my ex to my daughter without my permission and sprays all over, pretty feral from the get go, the other is my man's and is a sweetie. Mostly I have dogs. a few....

Your kids don't look like they are going to die yet, so get back to me about what you want to do to help them.

Peace

ok well after i get off work i plan to transplant them into smaller pots i guess. soil the wrong kind. i was told by someone on RIU to use miricle grow about 2 weeks after i put them in there i was told 100% NOT to use it so i screwed up there.but i think they'll be fine for now. its mixed with some cheaper kind that had perlite in it.

Please take a look at the links I gave you, Growing for dummies. (no I don't mean you, you are smart!) It has a soil recipe in there that uses MIRICLE GROW 100% ORGANIC, with cheap hyponex soil from wallmart and perlite. That is a great mix and has helped many many here. The problem with Miricle grow original soil is that it has slow release fertilizers in it that burn pot. It could also be the cause of the colour on the bottom leaves of your plants. You are right, it will be fine for a bit, but slowly burn it and then, you know what....death. Even if you just put it in a smaller pot with what you have and more perlite, then flush it, you can save it, but when you replant again, do the lighter mix.

Also, when you want to check for the right amount of watering to avoid saturating it againdo this:

1. For you, fill a pot the same size as your plants end up with with dry soil, just like you use for your babies.

2. Replant into the same size pots. So Lily you will have 3 the same size pots, 2 with plants, one with just soil.

3. After you have watered the plants well, feel the wieght of the watered plant compared to the dry pot of earth. Now you can feel the difference when your plant is wet or dry and will not misjudge watering again. After a time, you will get the hang of how heavy or light your pots should be when they need water or when they have still moisture in the soil.

I have to thank my dear friend Green_Nobody for this tip, we all learn and share wisdom here, and then we pay it foreward.

Peace

Saturn: You have a very experienced and capable person helping you, and I would sure as hell listen to her advice on this. She knows what she's talking about.

You said there was just a bit of perlite? That's all I see...is there soil under that white perlite pile?

Thank you ISO, I appreciate that. very much coming from you,my friend.

She got some advise at RIU that a way to fight the fungas gnats was to cover the soil with perlite. That is why it is like that. I have never heard of it, but I guess if the gnats need the top soil to breed and live it makes some kind of sense. That is why it is like that, under that just MG original soil.

Peace
