Question Carbon Filter Question

I am investigating purchasing a couple of grow tents (can anyone recommend a good model? ) A small one for veg/clones and a 4x4 for flower. I don't plan to buy a complete kit, but in some of the photos I have seen, the carbon filter is hung on the inside of the box and the fan pulls through the filter. Does it matter if it is inside the tent or can you have the fan push the air through the filter instead on the outside? I currently am pushing through a homemade carbon filter in a rubbermaid grow that seems to be working ok.

it is suggested that they are more effective for a longer period of time if you pull air through the filter instead of pushing from the inside out. I'm pretty sure either way will work just fine but I know when I bought my filter and fan the people at the hydro store were pretty firm on having it draw air from the outside of the filter to the inside.

These filters will work in either direction. If you push through the filter simply remove the prefilter cover, roll it up, and stick it on the inside of the filter.

If you going to push air through the filter, you'll need to move the prefilter to where ever the intake point is. The prefilter picks up the dust before it clogs the main filter. Otherwise , the dust will prematurely clog the filter.
