Rep Power: 32 | | Buying vs Trying...
So i started growing some seeds i picked out of some herb. No clue of the strain or anything like that.
I started in 2 cycles: First are 2 plants that started inside in the winter, stayed about 1' tall and spindly for a month or so, when i put them outside in May they started to flower it seemed but now it looks they are in a new cycle of leafing and have gotten a little thicker stalked and slightly taller.
The second cycle i started outside, and currently i have 4 of these plants growing. They are about 2' tall now and remain outside. So they get natural light and rain.
Currently they are all in 14" planters and was thinking about transfering them to ground.
My question is it even worth it? I read a few threads where people said they grew seeds from herb they bought and tried to grow them but never gots buds (males plants?).
I plan on posting pics tomorrow of my current endeavor, but wanted to start this thread since im anxious.
As a side note: from this sight i learned more about plants that are good for anxiety so i have future plans to order seeds and grow them, but would like to see my current through til harvest IF that is even possible.

Rep Power: 201 | | Hi Siriguejo. Welcome to Green Passion. Growing is a real personal thing to most people. If it's worth it, depends on what you want out of it. If you care for your plants you should be able to bring the females to harvest and enjoy the satisfaction of the grow and hopefully better smoke. Welcome aboard and good luck... | | The Following 2 Users Say Thank You to Zigzagman For This Useful Post:

Welcome to GP. Sounds like your off to a good start but I don't grow outside so you'll have to wait for a dirt farmer to stop by. Enjoy the site.

Keep Growing Sounds like your on the right path... size of the plant is limited to the size of the container they are in so... you might want to trans plant.. not knowing what strain your growing is hard ... is it sativa.. is it indica... is it a cross.. this matters .. when will they finish.. how big will they get.. how good will the smoke be.. and if it came out of a random bag.. are they going to herm. out.. dont stress out to much... they might kick a**. but you never know untill you try... grow on .. think about getting good genitics.. I know Its hard but its worth it

High siriguejo...
"Try" with bag seed or "Buy" good genics..
I went with buy them first.. I had (still do) bagseed, very good bag seed but I wasn't into putting in the time and not knowing what type of return I was supposed to get. It could be the bag seed strain is not a big producer in the first place, but how would you know that 'you' weren't the cause of it being 'not so good'.. if you're new.. There are so many variables in the beginning, I wanted to know it was me that wasn't doing it right, not the seed.
But that's just me..

so my new to the website thread disappeared so ill just post these here since this was my first mention of these plants.
But these are my outdoor babies of random seeds i pulled from bags....
You can see one of the plants i originally had inside during the winter under a 75w desk lamp(HAHAHA) that began to flower at 9" when i put it outside THEN stopped and started producing more leaves and getting a fatter stalk. Its still only about 15" tall and you can see the different sized leaves from the periods. Im thinkin that from all that stress that those 2 are bound to be female. But the tall solitary plants pictured seem like they might have a chance.

Hello siriguejo, how are you.Welcome to GP.thank you for pictures, fantastic looking ladies.I'd grow them to the end you may get some males but you may also get some females even if you get only one it's still worth of trying to finish her.and judging by the leafs it looks like you have some lovely sativa/indica cross and it will bud ok,just give it a chance good luck | | The Following User Says Thank You to raf33 For This Useful Post:

Those plants went back into the veg state and that is perfectly normal. Keep going, and see what you get.
Peace

theres all different determinations like strain , light , food , stress , size of pot u should have some nice amount of buds jus a guess like 3 to 4 oz with the size now but probably more per plant but thats jus a guess nice pics

That sounds kinda rude to me in some places. And theres a lot of misleading information in there as well.
Plants arent limited to container size no matter what medium they are in. Small containers make plants grow slightly slower, but it will never KEEP them from growing. FDD @ RIU.org grows 6-8 foot tall plants in 2 gallon containers @ times and a good many of people Ive met online do as well.
Bagseed hermies quite often, but its a good possibility as well that it came from a good genetic line and that it wont hermie out.

if theres no little saks by the base of the stem by all ur leaves then ur good with no stress they may never come out of the closet and stay female forever

bagseeds, practise makes perfect, use them first and learn from them before you go and spend your hard earned money.

Just watch them week to week for them to develop nuts and later on in flowering for little banana shaped nuts to pop up into the buds among the pistils. If neither happen then your golden buddy.
