Hey sentravapor,

Just one bit of advice, for your first grow. Keep it as simple as you can. As much light as possible, good ventilation, and soil. A soil grow is much easier, for a first timer. And, IMHO, Vid's simple soil recipe is the very best way to go. I have been doing this quite a while, and have just started using a slight variation of Vid's mix. It has been phenomenal. AND, way less expensive than just about any other method.

Best of luck to you and your grow.

Pappy

at the moment i have them under a few normal bulbs until i get the cfls i was planning on getting (one is a plant veg flood light with some kind of blue coating on it) the strangest thing is the "reg's" seed i used took like 3 days about and the "exotic" (for lack of a better word or name) seed literally sprouted above the mix over night. basically for venting for now im just leaving the closet doors open a bit and leaving the fan facing in to cool it out. once i know these sprouts are going somewhere ill do the whole intake/exhaust deal. i dont have a camera to take pics but my gf has one i can use, so ill up the pics either tonight or tomorrow. as for plans im just working as i go for now, thinking about doing a drip irrigation system but i havent done all the research on it, im wondering if thats a good enough root for flowering.. (pun intended)

don't wait to long on getting some CFLs as you wasting energy right now with that incandescent bulb - cool white / 6500K bulbs. just make a stop by at some bigger store on your way home and get a few. what also works great, at least for me, are floro tubes - a few of these produce tonnes of light at low cost and temps. to my observation floro tubes produce less heat/ radiate heat better then CFLs which means you can move even closer with tubes to your babies. by the way, move the CLFs within 1-2" and not any further or you will see some major stretching sooner then later! same thing goes for the tubes as well.

Let us know what kind of budget you are on, then we can advise you better. My veging lights are a combo of T-5 flourescents and cfl's. I would prefer all t-5's as the heat, even in my bigger space, is high. I know Hidut has some great deals on T-5's and they can get them to you FAST! And they are discreet. If you want to take a look, the link is in the signature. It is the first one. I think scott06 also uses T-5's and ISO just got a new set. He bought 2 sets of 8 light t-5's. You can get them in 2 ft sizes, that is what I have.

I have also bought several t-8 flourescents from the Habitat for Humanity, the restore, for about 3 bucks each. Check out used building supply places, they are great, and ISO has also bought fans etc from second hand stores. It is all possible!

Just take a look around and see what you can find. You have to set this up soon though, as the babes will grow!

thanks for the support jangle, those T5 fixtures are a bit pricey although, i know you get what you pay for and comparing growing to getting from an outside source im saving money in the long run.
