Default help get me in the right direction

Hi i just started my own room with 5 hempy buckets it is 4'x3' i have a 400w hps, should i get a dual hps and mh bulb before i start, are they better? another question is i have vermiculite, perlite, and sphagnum moss what ratio should i mix? do i layer? i have bought bc boost, grow, bloom and i was wondering if i mod the hempy design a little and put holes in the bottom along with the 7/16th drain 2" up would this method of nutrint feeding be good A Simple Experiment to Demonstrate the Principals of Hydroponic Growing---A Schundler Company Plant Guide should i get a few air stones to keep the water moving and stop mold? pleas any help would be great.

I am sorry but I don't know squat about Hydro. I will notify tokecrazy to drop by and lead you in the right direction. Just hold tight bud!

I also have a 400 w light. I vegged under MH and then got an HPS conversion bulb for flowering. I don't know that you have to, although vegging uses the blue spectrum of light and flowering the red spectrum. Mh = blue for vegging HPS = red for flowering. I have also read that some members have veged under the reverse.

IF you are short of money, I would veg and flower under the HPS bulb and see how it works for you. I have also heard of growers using MH light for flowering with no ill affects. Read up on the subject and I am sure others will drop by to give you a word of advise given time.

Hope that bit helps.

Peace

This method of hydro growing is a bit off my reservation, to be honest, but hopefully an experienced Hempy grower will visit the thread soon!.

Hi letsgrow,Queston have you done any hydro or is this your first? It dosent matter,I will try to help you out.Mix all your meduim together,1 part vermiclite,1part perlite.1part sphagnum togther.Use a air stone to o2 the water, just one stone that will fit your bucket. The nutr you have are good nutr I use them when I first started indoor growing.Try to mix your nutr a day or two ahead of res change. This way the mix will stablize and you can adjust the PH and have it stable to feed them.Post some pixs of your grow set up if you can,it will help in giving you the right answers you are looking for.Anything else just holler. If I dont answer you PM me cause I didnt see your posted queston.Peace

Default the setup

The water level in the buckets is just under 2 inches their is 4 air stones throughtout the bottom of the rubbermade container. the mik jug is what the nutes will be in and feed out the hole in the bottom. it also in theory keeps the water level at the right hight.I will also water them from the top every 2 days. one concern i have is the mix medium that tokecrazy has suggested, which i am going to use, might retain to much moisture could this hurt the plant. I was thinking of putting medium to large lava rocks in the bottom 2 inches of the buckets, i think it will help with drainage and ariation. will it work. all help so far has been great.

It is 25 gallons and the buckets are about 2.5 gallons each and with about 4 inches of nute water in the bottom and 3 gallon res(that milk jug which there will be 3) of nute to keep the bottom 4 inches always there. i might have to check more often but i think it will work. I am keeping my room at 80-85 F 55-65% hum lights on and 70-75 F with the same hum lights off . I am about to transplant to the big buckets in a few days and will post updates and pics.

tokecrazy is right it's too smaller for plants to grow..

for 18 gal you can grow 6 lettuces in it, mojos 5 to 6 in 18 gal. tank , or one plant per 5 gal. bucket..

for clones in bubbleponic.. it is for starter, when clones get bigger and monster.. transplant it to single 5 gal. bucket.. it will grow just like a plant..

Hey LetsgrowI just went to that post and looked it over.He has the hemp buckets setting in there own buckets each. Not all of them jamed in one tub.In one tub is to small. That's what we are saying the tub is to small not the plant container. The plants will be pushed together to much and not have enough room to grow out .Peace
