I am tired of being called a pot head and looked down upon by my family and some friends. The perception of medical marijuana users has to change. I want to start a magazine to change the way the public views us, and undo the damage of Henry Anslinger and others in our government who are supposed to protect us. I know there are already magazines out there on this topic, but I want to go beyond the stoner mags and do something more political. If you feel the same way and want to get involved just reply or private message me. I'm tired of dreaming. The time for action is now.

I would recommend looking at Norml's web page for an organization already doing this

plenty of ways to be involved right from there

Welcome to Green Passion! There are many here that work to further the cause. Take a read through our Mission statement section, and read the comments of like minded people. There are many here. We also work to help the medical marjiuana patiant and help them to grow their own rather than be estorted by street prices.

I know there are already people doing this. But many people have never even heard of norml. I live in Florida currently, and no one here hears anything about norml or anything else about the fight for legalization of medical marijuana. I don't want to join a large organization and get lost in the thousands of members. If one organization or magazine is good, then two is better. I want to create something of my own and have something to show that I am making an impact.

Well I had a couple of ideas, but one of the main fixtures i want to use are stories from patients who use medical marijuana to talk about their struggles with their afflictions and struggles they went through trying different legal alternatives and what led them to medical marijuana and relief they get from their use. every new issue would have a new patient. We need a voice, and what better voice than our own. But I have many other ideas. I will probably be moving back to San Diego to do this, or wherever a group of us can come together to make this dream a reality.

yeah but that is just a group that meets in south florida about 16 hours away from me. not really a big help to me, but i joined and hopefully some people will get back to me and have some good ideas. Also looking for a name so please post ideas!!!

Maybe the South Fla. group and you could get together to do something like this. Maybe do a round of "In the driveway" drops or "On the front step" drops or something of that nature. Wouldn't advise putting brochures in mailboxes as you could get in trouble for messing with the mail.

Welcome GS, i don't think that you have to go thru the full hassle to start a new magazine to get the point across

i would rather suggest to join and support NOMAL - they got their system already set up, all they need are more people to join and pitch in, as you said so well: not enough know em yet.
Besides, they have plenty of material ready for you you could show to your family so that they can catch on finally
