Rep Power: 14 | | What may be the best for pain?
Would an autoflower or a 50/50 indica/sativa be most efficacious for chronic pain? I might have access to either in the distant future so it is not a matter of just "try 'em". Can anyone take a WAG?

MS Neuropathic Pain / Urinary Incontinence: Trainwreck, Super Silver Haze), NYCD and Sour Diesel.
For severe pain, concentrates may be required.
Blueberry Kush: Medium pain control. Medium body high, STRONG sleep inducer
Chronic pain: Blueberry, reeferman's hashplant, OG Kush
Hope that helps

Personally what I do for Chronic Pain is more Indica dominant strains. My first grow was a Blueberry Hashplant and it is 80/20 pretty much below the neck.
There is nothing wrong with your autoflower 50/50 is a gr8t upbeat daytime light pain relief. When smoking this in the day for me I still take some pharma pain meds but still get some things done. Later on it's 80 or above Indica for the night.

Are the autoflowers usually of a strong Indica pedigree? I have read a little where a Ruderalis is involved and I assumed crossed w/ an Indica, but I really do not know. If that is the case then it looks as if the auto might be a better one for me vs. the 50/50 which is not an autoflower.

Why do you want autoflower? They aren't easier to grow or more idiot-proof than Northern Lights #5 - nothing is. And NL#5 is good, strong pain relief for most people.
The effects of different strains varies a lot from person to person, though. The only way to know what's best for you is to try a lot of strains... Oh, the burden of having to smoke all that weed! It's rough. But, nobody ever said it would be easy!

Strain isn't the only answer. Letting the plants flower a little longer (to get amber trichomes) can help too.

O beautiful for spacious skies, For amber waves of grain,
For purple mountain majesties Above the fruited plain!
America! America!
God shed his grace on thee
And crown thy good with brotherhood
From sea to shining sea!

I have to agree with the rest of the crew. Pure Indicas or Indica dominant strains should be best for pain. On the other hand I have a friend that had back surgery and had a disc removed. He has a lot of pain and is on heavy meds. He likes my BlueberryXCindy99 and says when he smokes it it like putting BenGay inside his back right on the pain and he does not have to use as many meds when he has that particular strain! Sound wierd but he swears it works for him. If you have a choice of the Autoflowers or the 50/50 mix I think I would go with the Autoflowers. I have not grown them myself but I have read that some strain are good and strong. If you have access to both strains your best bet is to grow both and see which one works best for you. Good luck and take care!

It's not so much that I want an autoflower, it's more of a matter of what I may be able to get my hands on; that & the 50/50. If I had more of a choice I would very much like to try NL5, the Kushs, Romulan, etc. Thanks for your answers.

I have numerous health problems and have to take Percodan, Methadone and Morphine for my pain. But I found that when I crossed Northern Lights with Hindu Kush it has helped my pain in ways that the meds can't. The only problem is that after awhile I become burned out and must try a different strain...But it's easier on my liver than the meds..

herijuana is right up there with some of THE most medicinal strains available, but doesn't completely lay you out either -- imho, she offers a calm peaceful dreamy buzz pretty excited, re-vegging one right now and she's looking beautiful
