UCLA researchers interested in people using medical marijuana
The more published scientific information regarding the affects of cannabinoids, the better! If you’re a medical cannabis patient (or know one who might want to enroll in this study), NORML asks you to please consider participating in Dr. Ackerman’s online medical research.
UCLA is inviting people with fibromyalgia, IBS, interstitial cystitis, chronic pain, and other chronic and recurring conditions to sign up and participate in a year-long Internet-based survey, called PROCAIM. PROCAIM was developed under a grant from the National Center for Complementary and Alternative Medicine to UCLA researchers to study:

• the effectiveness of complementary and alternative therapies and
• the interactions among stress and coping, pain, and treatment outcomes.

This is a web-based study composed of surveys that will recur at intervals over 1 year!
TO ENROLL

1. Log in to the web site: http://www.procaim.org
2. Register as a New User.
3. Select clinic name: NORML
4. Read and sign the Consent Form.

After you “sign” the form with your email address, you can begin to answer the first in a series of questionnaires. The system will send you email reminders at the time of each scheduled follow-up for one year.

Some update on this program for anyone that has interest, or knows someone that could participate.

I have spoken directly with the doctors that are running the study, and they are quite pro-medical MJ when it is a suitable medicine and provides relief. ANY information on the forms is totally secure and private.

THIS is just the kind of study that more of is needed!! And, none of these studies will do crap to further our legal rights UNLESS YOU, the Medical MJ patient, PARTICIPATE.

Go to the site, look it over, and sign up if you are a med patient. I see the risk as very minimal, but the rewards can be MUCH greater once the study is published.

I am an active participant in the study. The questions are general in nature (the study questions were not originally written for med mj) and simple to respond to with short sentences or drop-boxes.
