<SPAN style="FONT-SIZE: 12px; FONT-FAMILY: arial"> <DIV style="COLOR: #151515; LINE-HEIGHT: 16px">WINNIPEG, Manitoba, Feb. 15 -- Pain, anxiety, and disability were significantly reduced with the marijuana derivative nabilone (Cesamet) used for fibromyalgia, researchers here said.

In a small trial, four weeks of off-label nabilone reduced mean scores on the 10-point Visual Analog Scale of pain by 2.0 points from baseline (P=0.02), reported Ryan Q. Skrabek, M.D., and colleagues at the University of Manitoba in the February issue of the Journal of Pain.

Nabilone is a synthetic analog of tetrahydrocannabinol, a key component of marijuana. It is FDA-approved for chemotherapy-induced nausea and vomiting.

Many thanks Midgrain! My wife has fibromyalgia, spondelitis and a couple other nasties that attach tendons, etc. and she fights the pain all the time. A oral med that is derived from our medicine would be a Godsend to her (she doesn't smoke and although *I know* it would help her, I respect her right to abstain and never, ever push her to use MJ "in the raw").

Always glad to be of assistance in this manor.

I found it very interesting how it has been legalized since 85' but not available until 06'.

I think this information is supressed to suit the pharmaceutical companies agenda.

I also found it funny how the drug is made to mimic the THC and cannibinoid in Marijuana but, without the "euphoria" we have to come to love.

To me that is a High level of Fascisim. I mean if you actually need it then what the hell is wrong with the patient receiving some ejoyment along with their medical relief.
