I luckily stumbled upon a little blog and discovered some very interesting info regarding ceramide.

Apparently Cannabinoids increase the production of Ceramide which gets converted into sphingosine which causes Cancer Cells to undergo Autophagy and Cell Death. Next, sphingosine kinase (SK) converts sphingosine to sphingosine phosphate (SP).

SP promotes cancer cell development by many different pathways. The following review articles show that inhibiting the activity of SK, thereby preventing the synthesis of SP, induces a rather rapid death of cancer cells. The death is induced by...

1. A deprivation of SP, thereby depriving the cells of growth and angiogenesis signals.
2. An accumulation of ceramide since it is no longer being metabolized into SP.
The following articles show that inhibition of SK (no SP synthesis) activates the pathway of programmed cell death or apoptosis. Interestingly, one of the ways SP blocks ceramide activity is by directly inhibiting one of the major pathways that ceramide uses to kill cancer cells.


However, as mentioned before, histamine, activing via its H1 receptor, activates the gene for SK promoting its synthesis. Since H1 receptors are expressed on many cancer and leukemia cells, histamine may promote cancer/leukemia cell growth by diverting ceramide into SP via the activation of SK. Benadryl, an H1 blocker, and almost certainly Claritin, inhibit the ability of histamine to make SK. "

This is very, very interesting for those who had used Hemp Oil but saw little effect.

The researchers in Spain discovered that thc increases ceramide production.
But the histamine part is a new information for me. Once again very very intersting. So is it advisable to eat claritine along the oil. That are my thoughts

NUH UH JG!!! THE ANTIHISTAMINE IN CLARITIN INHIBITS THE ABILITY TO MAKE sphingosine phosphate (SP). THIS IS WHAT ENCOURAGES CANCER CELLS TO GROW SO YOU WOULD NEED TO INHIBIT THAT TO LET THE CANNABINOIDS DO THERE WORK!!!

I THINK!!! AND I'M STONRD NOW SO DON'T COUNT ON IT!!

It says histamines are bad... they block the synthesis of chemicals which lead to aptosis and/or autophagy (PCD - programmed cell death).

Anti-histamines, like benadryl, block histamines. So, they would be helpful to cancer patients.
