Default Fibromyalgia...anyone?

Hi all,

My wife has finally been diagnosed with something with a name...Fibromyalgia. I can't imagine the pain she deals with daily, and still functions.

She has tried damn near every pain pill on the market, most don't do much at all, and the ones that do knock her out so bad she can't work, etc. and she hates that.

Can anyone recommend any strains (common, if possible) that would be beneficial to her pain?

FYI, she has only smoked MJ once in her life, and that was in HS over 35 years ago. She is hesitant about MJ, as the US Gov't did a fine job of filling her head with BS about it and it's effects. She gives my full support, however, with my growing and medical use (approved by MD) for my Meniere's. I would be disabled without it, and I am afraid the same may arise for her, soon.

She is talking to her MD about using MJ as a treatment, but I am growing mostly Sativa's (C99, Power Plant, etc.) and while they help me greatly they are mostly a head high, not the body-numbing, pain-killing stuff like she will need.

Hell, if she gets her medical approval we will be moving sooner than expected to allow for larger grow rooms, etc. (I knew there was a bonus in there for me, but more importantly is getting her pain under some kind of control.)

You're gonna have to try out a few indicas and see which ones don't knock her out, and still have a good painkilling effect. I know what fibromyalgia is and it's effects. she's going to need a very potent indica to deal with that kind of pain. Aurora indica is what I am growing now, it is supposed to be 100% indica, and very very potent.

Were those one at a time, or all at once? That's a lot of medicine!

My wife has been taking the percocet type pills for years, but they don't do much now.

Thanks much for that suggestion! I do plan to place a seed order in the next couple months (from "somewhere") as I have -0- now but a couple seeds from some old bag weed, likely bunk.

I hate to see her hurt, and if there is anything I can do to help her with it I want to try, at least. First step is her becoming comfortable with using MJ at all, which she must decide on her own. All I've done is tell her I think it might be helpful, as I would never overly-encourage anyone to step outside their "comfort circle" to use MJ as medicine.

Hey Iso try and find some infor on how MJ takes care of the pain and it's dosent destory the rest of her body and it's not man made and it wouldnt hurt to try it just too see if it will do any good for her.I know it dose worry you and you want her to be at more ease of the pain. But you have to educate poeple to see this is a med and not the BS the goverment is handing out. There's a clip here or pot-tv if she could watch it she would see how much good it dose.I'll look and see if I can find it. PEACE

Toke: Sound wisdom in your thinking. Many thanks!

Mogie: You're one hellof an asset to this site!! Thank you...that is just what I need to show her, and will tomorrow while we are both home. A couple of those were very in-depth, but I couldn't acces the first one. No worries, I think the other three will do it, and if not, I will do some Googling...odd I never thought of doing that search! (Doh!)

She has valid fears, to her. She was raised very religious by fundy Baptist parents, is is terrified of all the "boogymen" her parents told her about when she was growing up. Even in mature adulthood those fears are still there, but she is also a very reasonable lady who, since we have been together these last 7 years, has grown a ton in terms of what she has experienced (and is willing to consider that everything Mom and Dad said might not be gospel truth).

Now she will listen to reason. She asked one doctor about it and he kinda blew it off, but she is changing doc's anyway and, if she learns that MJ WILL help, I belive she would be asking her Doc to look into it, and approve her using it.

Thanks all...you made my day...!
