Rep Power: 37 | | Multiple root structures?
I've never tried cloning but I thought I'd throw this out there, let me know if I am an idiot for even thinking along these lines please.....
So you can take a cutting and get it to grow new roots, more roots equals more zoots, good so far?
You can also pretty much break a stem or a branch and as long as it is still hanging on it will generally be ok, yeah?
My question is, could you cut some branches as if you were going to clone them but only cut halfway through the branch, then position the plant so that you can bend that branch upward and induce rooting on the cut that is halfway through the branch? It seems like you would effectively have a plant with one or more branches that have been cut halfway through and rooted thus producing multiple root structures for a single plant.
Is it possible for this to work and would it be worth the effort? Like I said, I've never cloned before so my knowledge is limited and I could be an idiot. Anyway, food for thought.
Oh yeah, except the stress/hermie factor...........

You can also pretty much break a stem or a branch and as long as it is still hanging on it will generally be ok, yeah? Yes, with a bit of tape or the like, to hold th pieces together.

It seems like you would effectively have a plant with one or more branches that have been cut halfway through and rooted thus producing multiple root structures for a single plant. Do not cut it but with yor thumb and forefinger gently 'crush' the spot where you want the bend, 2 or 3 time till it won't support its' own weight. Then put it in the position you want and in 2-3 days it will heal in that postion.

It works well. I use it in SCROG for mking right angel turns, when I need them. It works with most plants.. not only clones..
Oh yeah, except the stress/hermie factor.......... No hermis yet.. from this. some stress yes, some. | Good tute pine boy, I've seen it before but lost track of it, I'll keep it at hand from now on.

........... | Hig patrong... I just re-read this, 5-6 times.. yes, I'm high but that's some sentence or two! LOL!!!
My interpretation NOW is: they don't just 'pop' roots. The cut or bend must be in soil/soiless/DWC.. for roots to form...
OR, I could be missing your whole point.

Thanks Cheese, I've used the pinch and bend to get a more upright plant but I was actually talking about making a setup so that you could root the halfway cut branches but being as the have to be submerged in something I can see it being an entry point for some kind of rot or fungus for the rest of the plant it is still attached to. Picture a stalk with the two lowest branches looking like W's, and roots coming from both points on the bottom of the W.
Exactly Pine Boy, now that I look at the figures. Thanks for providing that but I guess its already been done. And I suppose if it were the greatest thing since sliced bread it would be more widely used so it must not produce monster results.
