MILFORD -- The city police officer whose cruiser rammed another car in June, killing two Orange teens, has been charged with two counts of second-degree manslaughter and one count of reckless driving. Jason Anderson was released Tuesday after posting $250,000 bond and will be arraigned Nov. 24 in Derby Superior Court. He surrendered earlier in the afternoon at the State Police barracks in Bethany. Anderson, a Milford officer for five years, was suspended following his arrest, Chief Keith Mello said. There will be an internal investigation into Anderson's behavior, the chief said, which is separate from the criminal case. The internal review could not start until the criminal investigation was complete, he said. The internal review will determine the appropriate sanctions, and will be referred to the Board of Police Commissioners, Mello said. The double-fatal crash in the early morning hours of June 13 took place as Anderson was returning to Milford on the Boston Post Road from a mutual aid call in West Haven. The couple, Dave Servin and Ashlie Krakowski, both 19, were killed when their Mazda was broadsided by Anderson's cruiser. The families of the two teens could not be reached for comment, but Bart Halloran, the lawyer representing the Servin and Krakowski families, said they are "grateful that the state police did such a fair and thorough investigation.'' Halloran said the families have filed a notice of intent to sue, but have not gone further because state police had possession of all of the evidence. "We have our own accident reconstruction experts, but we've been waiting for the investigation to conclude before going further," he said. Witnesses told police that Anderson was traveling at a high rate of speed when the crash occurred at the intersection of Route 1 and Dogwood Road in Orange. There were also reports that Anderson was drag racing with another officer as they traveled back to Milford. Lt. J. Paul Vance, the state police spokesman, said no further arrests in the case are expected. Anderson had returned to administrative duty in late summer, but was not medically cleared to resume patrols. He suffered severe chest injuries in the crash. Hugh Keefe, Anderson's lawyer, said Tuesday he had not yet seen the arrest warrant affidavit. "This is an extremely tragic event for everyone involved, including Jason Anderson's wife and his brother, who is also a highly regarded Milford police officer. "This case screams out for a jury to tell us whether criminal conduct was involved,'' Keefe said. "It was a horrible accident, but it is a quantum leap to go from an accident to criminal conduct.'' The first Orange police officer to arrive at the scene reported that Anderson walked from his damaged car to another Milford cruiser, where he "hunched over" onto its trunk from his injuries. Krakowski was thrown from her 2008 Mazda, and Servin was trapped inside the vehicle, which had been pushed 40 feet onto the grass at the edge of a store's parking lot. Servin was pronounced dead at the scene and Krakowski, an emergency medical technician and a nursing student, died a short time later at the Hospital of St. Raphael in New Haven. Orange Chief Robert Gagne had asked state police to take over the investigation because it involved another police department. Krakowski and Servin are buried next to each other in Orange Center Cemetery, their graves marked with stuffed animals and flowers.

Even in tough times, it's good to be a lawmaker: According to a report released this week by the Center for Responsive Politics, there are 237 millionaires serving in Congress, according to 2008 figures. That's a slight decline from the previous year, when there were 239 millionaires in the House and Senate. But it still reflects the fact that the average lawmaker is far wealthier than his or her typical constituent. While about one percent of Americans are millionaires, 44 percent of those serving in Congress can claim as much. "The biggest takeaway from all of this is that even thought the collective wealth of members of congress appears to have declined, members of Congress are still so much more wealthy than the average American – and even more wealthy than a lot of wealthy Americans," CRP spokesman Dave Levinthal told Hotsheet. The richest member of Congress is Republican California Rep. Darrell Issa, whose net worth is estimated to be in excess of $250 million. He's followed by four Democrats: California's Jane Harman (approx. $245 million), Wisconsin's Herb Kohl (approx. $215 million), Virginia's Mark Warner (approx. $210 million) and Massachusetts' John Kerry (approx. $209 million). Among the top 25 wealthiest legislators – which includes boldface names Nancy Pelosi, Dianne Feinstein and Olympia Snowe – there are 14 Democrats and 11 Republicans, suggesting no clear wealth divisions between party. The net worth calculated for the lawmakers is not exact, and CPR offers a wide range of possible net worths for each member. Levinthal said that lawmakers tend to report assets and liabilities, income, gifts and asset transactions, as required by law, in very broad ranges; the listed figure, he said, represents an estimate between two possible extremes. (Primary residences and government salaries are not reported, and thus not included.) The least wealthy member of Congress, the report found, is Florida Democrat Alcee Hastings, whose net worth is calculated to be negative $4,732,002 (!). Other lawmakers to make the bottom 25 are Montana's Max Baucus and Ohio's Dennis Kucinich. Keep in mind, however, that these lawmakers likely have substantial unreported assets, including their residences. In the executive branch, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton is the second wealthiest, with a net worth of about $21 million; she trails only Securities and Exchange Commission Chairman Mary L. Schapiro. The least wealthy administration figure is Vice President Joe Biden, whose net worth is estimated at just $27,012. (President Obama comes in at $3,670,505.) The median reportable net worth of senators declined from $2.27 million to a still-robust $1.79 million between 2007 and 2008. Kerry, Warner, Feinstein and Sen. John McCain all experienced double-digit percentage declines in their average, estimated wealth between the two years. The median reportable net worth for members of the House in 2008 was $622,254. Levinthal notes that "in some cases, [lawmakers'] wealth is being derived from the very companies that in many cases benefit from the taxpayers." "The top companies at which members of Congress are investing, many of them are TARP recipients that have received billions and billions of dollars from you and me," he said. Among the companies in which members of Congress hold assets are Bank of America and Goldman Sachs.

Al Gore has been on the defensive over his financial motives for pushing for a cap and trade system to reduce CO2 emissions, arguing that he is merely putting his money where his mouth is, however, a startling revelation in a recent Newsweek article proves that Gore is only interested in solutions to environmental problems that line his pockets.

For argument’s sake, let’s accept the highly contentious premise that the life-giving gas that humans exhale and plants absorb, carbon dioxide, is a dastardly evil threat to the planet, despite the fact that Al Gore himself admits CO2 is not the major driver of global warming.

If there was a solution to neutralize CO2 emissions that didn’t involve devastating the economy, taxing the citizens into oblivion, de-industrializing the west and giving government huge regulatory powers over our private lives, would Al Gore, Maurice Strong and the rest of the kingpins of the globalist environmental movement be interested?

You can bet your bottom dollar they’re not interested.

One of Gore’s global warming advisers, CEO Timothy LaSalle, told Gore’s team that CO2 emissions could be neutralized completely by clever use of agriculture and technology, without the need for a global carbon tax or the use of cap and trade systems that Gore, along with people like the Rothschilds, Maurice Strong and Barack Obama, have a huge financial stake in promoting.

The Newsweek article states:

“If we feed the biology and manage grasslands appropriately, we could sequester as much carbon as we emit,” says Timothy LaSalle, CEO of the Rodale Institute, who presented at two summits. The political clash is this: if you tell people soils can be managed to suck up lots of our carbon emissions, it sounds like a get-out-of-jail-free card, and could decrease what little enthusiasm there is for reducing those emissions—as one of Gore’s assistants told LaSalle in asking him to dial down his estimate. (He didn’t.)

So there you have it – LaSalle proposed a way of solving the CO2 issue but was basically told to shove it by Gore’s team because the methods he advocated would eliminate the need for what Gore and his cronies are really pursuing, nightmare regulation, taxation, and control over American’s lives, along with billions of dollars flooding into the coffers of Gore and the rest of the “carbon billionaire” globalists via the carbon trading systems they own.

“Could it be that Mr Gore and his team want the US economy and its free market system to be overturned regardless of the science? Could it be that they do not want to know about any science that does not allow them to tax and interfere in the lives of every American?” ask Ann McElhinney and Phelim McAleer.

“This is an outrageous interference in science for a political purpose. But what is the political purpose? Al Gore has called for stopping the use of fossil fuels and the complete restructuring of the economy in the US within ten years but when offered a chance to remove “harmful” CO2 from the atmosphere his team tries to change the science.”

That’s because Gore doesn’t give a damn about the science and he doesn’t give a damn about the environment. Like the rest of the vultures circling around the rich pickings of the global warming fraud, his only interest is in feasting on the corpse of the U.S. economy and the American taxpayer once he manages to ram though the cap and trade scam that will enrich the very carbon trading systems he owns.
