I don't know about you but my ears hurt when I hear the English language abuse with stupid filler words that have no use in the conversation but to make the person look dumb.

Number one most abused word is.........

Actually
Like
Man
Unbelievable
You Know
Theoretically
Exactly
Good to go
He's all
She's all
Totally

So what's your's and can you make it through the day without using useless filler words?

The first ever marijuana café in America opened last week. (http://www.reuters.com/article/domesticNews/idUSTRE5AD06O20091114?feedType=RSS&feedName=domesticNews)

That doesn't surprise me. What shocks me is that it's in Portland, Oregon. That would be like opening a Mormon bookstore in Salt Lake City.
Weird, right?
The place is called The Cannabis Café, which I must say I find pretty disappointing.
If there's anything we know about people who claim to use marijuana for medicinal use, it's that they have a sense of humor. Why not call it something fun. Here's a few ideas just off the top of my head

The Grass Hut

The Dopeteria

The Weeding Room

Stoned Depot

De Pot Depot

McDoobies

International House of Potcakes

The Joint Joint

Paranoid Eddie's Bakery

Pottery Barn

Hysterical

I tried the hydrogen peroxide + baking soda + soap bit. And that helped significantly, but he still stinks badly. Any ideas other than a visit to the vet in the morning?

So you live in a place where you want the grow away from prying eyes well heres a solution.cover the window with a tight fitting blind & cover the entire window with a shadow box made from drywall on a stand.Built like a box it will cover the window tight to the wall & seal that off.You can add a small light inside with a timer to give the impression outside of room activity with out the bright lights being visable!
I used tin foil over the blinds before & taped it in place so no light will be visable to the outside world!
If you do a grow room like this no-one will ever know!

Hi back a while I grew in a garden type setting But its how the main plant is situated that will determine the yeild!
So make a hump with the soil so its a good foot high & 2 ft wide as it tapers back to ground.....Cover with any kind of plastic & tuck in the edges with dirt!
Poke a hiole in top & insert the plant...The plastic will protect against a killing frost .Retain correct moisture so the cell lasts longer & any grow chemicals can be fed from the rooting hole!
During a towering rain the plastic will prevent a drowning & the yeild fold for being surrounded with its own sink-greenhouse will amke you smile plenty.....If you don't beleive me try 1 plant with cover ^ one without .
California farmers know the machine that lays a plastic sheet for veggy grower & NO WEEDS for your Weed!

I used this for tomatoes plants s well & frost killed everything top side & the roots regenerated the plant but like a lobster looses a claw it will grow back but way smaller!

An Indian woman showed me a toilet paper tube she used on the bus & you open that small back widow & wrap a fabreeze sheet around the end with an elastic so the purity of what you smake goes un-noticed on the bus!

Its a swallow, has significance as being a historically nautical tattoo. The swallow is the only bird, where every one of them alive, every year, fly's home to Catalina island. This had significant meaning to naval men and sailors as a symbol of always being able to find your way home. I also have a spider web on my right elbow, symbolic of a struggle... which I have certainly been in once or twice.

High...

5 weeks ago, my DRGT girls were 4 weeks old.. Something happened in the rez.. ph dropping 1.5 over night, 2 nites in a row.. yellowing.. morte.
I was supposed to harvest in about 2-3 weeks.. now nada.

So with no clonage going.. I started 3 (JW) WRussian, 2 Nevilles' Haze (GH/F) and 2 SSH (GH/F)... Then, because I was high and in a parinoid state of mind, I started 2 DRGT Cheese(F).. These are under 400w CMH in E&F and very happy.

I am now the possessor of (the ones that survived the gauntlet!) 2 Nevilles' Haze (neither look alike), 1 SSH (with very broad leaves??) and a JW-WR (??? on the sex) all 3 weeks from seed... AND 2 DRGT Cheese(F) that are 2 weeks old.. (identical twin girls!). These 2 are under 85w cfl, E&F..

My 'big', best functioning box, w 600w & co2, it going to house 2 girls.. SCROGED (I hope). I would like to grow out clones but cloneing these would put me, out of stock, for too long before next cut.

Here's the delema: after another 2-3 weeks veg:

The Nevilles Haze(F) is a 14 week or more strain.. harvest Aprilish.

The SSH(F) is a 11-12 week or more strain ... harvest Marchish..

The WR (could be a boy?) is a 10 week strain, Februaryish (If it's a girl).. and my best bet, but it could easily be a boy.. wasted time... but would be good to dust other girls with...

The 2 Cheese are starting 2 weeks behind these others, and is a 10 week strain, maybe 11-12?? harvest, Marchish.

Which 2 do I put in the 600w box? I'll run dry in late January.. I probaly could use a 'couple' weeks back on earth, anyway..

They will 'all' be coloned in the next month or so.. for later, but what's the best avenue to take now? I vasillate from these to those..

I'm high (I'm happy to say), confused and could use anothers veiw..

AND shot 79 today at the local links. First time this year... OORAH!

DRGT Cheese!!!

:Greetings from GP: :Where Dreams are:

Many of you might not be aware of this but one year ago today Jonnyappleweed, Scott06 and myself, Jangel, bought GreenPassion.org.

:bananas::bananas:

We where left with the message by the former owner that he had "No confidence in the new management and could not see us lasting long"

:do it::hawkeye::do it::hawkeye::do it:

Well, folks, seems like we HAVE made it. We have survived and done very very well!

laserGP.gif spidermandancing laserGP.gif spidermandancing laserGP.gif

We initially had a very bad image to take over, GreenPassion was not well respected, but we have indeed turned it around, and now, we have many coming here joining after hearing of us, and the many positive things about the site.

GPwelcome.gif

It has indeed been a journey. We have joined with many sites, in a unique philosophy, as we believe it is only by cooperating with other sites and movements that we can ever hope to change laws and open minds about Cannabis. It seems almost every week we have a new site coming to us now, asking to be added to our list on the home page.

:Legalize it!: :do it: :Legalize it!: :do it: :Legalize it!:

We have been amazed at the number of active members we have here, taking part in this site, and sharing their lives with us all.

Hug Smiley

We have also worked with Granny Storm Crow to help spread her list far and wide, again, to share and educate everyone, everywhere, about the benefits of Cannabis and how it can change lives and help people all over the world.

We have also an open dialogue here to search out the truth about Rick Simpson's healing hemp oil and find out, without a doubt, how it can heal. Now we have 2 forums, dealing with this subject. And it is an awesome wonderful things.

actionleaf.gif smileyheart.gif actionleaf.gif

So much has happened in the past year! It has been an incredible experience! Our job has been to make sure we deal with compassion, with anyone that comes here for help or knowledge. This we freely give to all. As it should be.

We have laughed together, cried together, and shared so very very much! You all mean the world to me!

Members, let us know what you have seen in the last year, how you feel we have grown, what GP means to you, and what place you feel we can reach for in the future.

This site is as much about our members as it is about the owners. Without you fine people, we would not be here. I like to think we are indeed unique and a kinder, gentler place for many to visit.

My hats off to all of you, all over the world. YOU are what GreenPassion is about!

Let me know how you all feel.

Congratulations, GreenPassion.org! shakehands.gif

The NEW GP is not so new any more!

Happy Birthday Everyone!

:321: :happybday: :321:

Peace and blessings to all!

We are indeed a rising star and we are going to Shine!

science confirms the possibility of a zombie apocalypse

sure, the scientists don't come out and say it, but they damn well could if they wanted to!

as you know, human psychology is something that i find fascinating, this is really interesting.
before you say i have been watching too many zombie movies, or playing too much Left 4 Dead, here me out. well, here the facts out. :D:

the science behind it revolves around Toxoplasma gondii (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Toxoplasma_gondii). we will get more into that in just a second.

how could this cause a "zombie apocalypse"? well, for starters it is confirmed that at least half of the Earth's population are carriers. they live in the body...and in the brain.

here is what these little critters do:

---Quote---
Toxoplasma gondii is a common parasite found in the gut of cats; it sheds eggs that are picked up by rats and other animals that are eaten by cats. Toxoplasma forms cysts in the bodies of the intermediate rat hosts, including the brain. Since cats don't want to eat dead, decaying prey, Toxoplasma takes the evolutionarily sound course of being a "good" parasite, leaving the rats perfectly healthy, except for the fun fact that now the rats want to be eaten. slight difference from being healthy, really.
---End Quote---
ok, so exactly how does that affect us? well it turns out that rats, scientifically speaking, react to and are affected by things much the same way we are, after all, rats and humans have the same basic physiology, similar organs, and similar body plans (http://indianapublicmedia.org/amomentofscience/how-humans-are-like-rats/). this is why they have been used in scientific experiments for so long, this is an accepted fact.

ok, what does this have to do with a freakin zombie apocalypse? hold on, we're gettin there!

Oxford scientists (http://www.opednews.com/populum/print_friendly.php?p=Brain-worms-one-in-five-a-by-Doug-Korthof-090709-795.html)have discovered that the minds of the rats that are infected with this parasite (the same parasite that half the population is giving a free ride to) have been "subtly altered". in other words, they exhibit zombie like behavior. in a series of experiments, they demonstrated that healthy rats will prudently avoid areas that have been doused with cat urine. in fact, when scientists test anti-anxiety drugs on rats, they use a whiff of cat urine to induce neurochemical panic(i experience this when i am forced to go shopping). however, it turns out that rats who are infected, could care less. they literally show no sane reaction. instead, some of the infected rats actually go kamikaze and seek out the cat urine over and over again and again. the parasite alters the mind (it zombifies them) of the rat for its own benefit.

remember that that 1 in 5 people have this parasite? remember that rats are physiologically the same as us (again, scientifically speaking)? if you do, then keep reading.

you see, if the parasite can change the basic survival mechanism in the rat's brain, and we are similar, could it have any effect on humans?

---Quote---
Dr. E. Fuller Torrey (Associate Director for Laboratory Research at the Stanley Medical Research Institute) noticed links between Toxoplasma and schizophrenia in human beings, approximately three billion of whom are infected with the toxoplasma gondii,

* Toxoplasma infection is associated with damage to astrocytes, glial cells which surround and support neurons. Schizophrenia (https://health.google.com/health/ref/Schizophrenia)is also associated with damage to astrocytes.
* Pregnant women with high levels of antibodies to Toxoplasma are more likely to give birth to children who will develop schizophrenia
* Human cells raised in petri dishes, and infected with Toxoplasma, will respond to drugs like haloperidol; the growth of the parasite stops. Haloperidol is an antipsychotic, used to treat schizophrenia.

Dr. Torrey got together with the Oxford scientists, to see if anything could be done about those parasite-controlled rats who were driven to hang around cat urine-soaked corners, waiting for the cats to eat them (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Toxoplasma_gondii#Toxoplasmosis). According to a recent press release, it turns out that haloperidol restores the rat's healthy fear of cat urine. In fact, antipsychotic drugs were as effective as pyrimethamine, a drug that specifically eliminates Toxoplasma.
---End Quote---
so, can parasites like toxoplasma subtly alter human behavior? can it turn them into zombies? by physical definition a zombie is someone who acts or responds in a mechanical or apathetic way (http://www.dictionary.net/zombie). parasites have long been known to take over or 'control' their hosts before, manipulating their behavior, chemically training them in some instances. it's nothing new.

don't believe me?

let's look at some examples:

* hairworms (http://www.newscientist.com/article/dn7927), which live inside grasshoppers, sabotage the grasshopper's central nervous system, *forcing *them to jump into pools of water, drowning themselves. the hairworms then swim away from their hosts to continue their life cycle.

* the lancet fluke dicrocoelium dendriticum (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dicrocoelium_dendriticum) *forces *its ant host to attach to the tips of grass blades, the easier to be eaten. the fluke needs to get into the gut of a grazing animal to complete its life cycle.

* the fluke euhaplorchis californiensis (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Euhaplorchis_californiensis) *forces *fish to shimmy and jump so wading birds will grab them and eat them, for the same reason.

you're probably thinking to yourself, ok, thats interesting Sprocket, so how exactly can this cause a "zombie apocolypse"?

well, to sum up, answer your question, and prove the point, 3 billion people are carrying a parasite that is know to effectively control the mind of it's host. now, the parasite's only interest in mind control, is causing the rats to want to be eaten by the cats, for reasons pointed out earlier. however, this same parasite has been proven to change the personalities of it's hosts as a side effect. (http://www.corante.com/loom/archives/2006/01/17/the_return_of_the_puppet_masters.php) some people have even gone insane because of it, while others have led perfectly normal lives.

now this doesnt mean we will be chased by the infected through the streets while they moan "braaaiiiiiiins", but it does show evidence that those that are infected, are not themselves, and might not react appropriately to a situation as a "normal" person would.

my advice, be careful who you flip off, they might just be forced to flip out.

now if we could just get those pesky zombies stoned....

well, to sum up, answer your question, and prove the point, 3 billion people are carrying a parasite that is know to effectively control the mind of it's host. now, the parasite's only interest in mind control, is causing the rats to want to be eaten by the cats, for reasons pointed out earlier. however, this same parasite has been proven to change the personalities of it's hosts as a side effect. some people have even gone insane because of it, while others have led perfectly normal lives.

now this doesnt mean we will be chased by the infected through the streets while they moan "braaaiiiiiiins", but it does show evidence that those that are infected, are not themselves, and might not react appropriately to a situation as a "normal" person would.

my advice, be careful who you flip off, they might just be forced to flip out.

now if we could just get those pesky zombies stoned....

Capitalism is a constant in the Cannabis industry, and it seems we cant stop it from happening, especially if we want a free market...we can only educate the consumer to buy the efficient and reliable product. If price is an issue, than we need to a logical conclusion...lets not make it worse than it is.

Take thcfarmer, seedbay, or all the cannabis seed auction houses; They auction seeds at times for more than $500, some vendors push off $125 for 5-10 seeds! Then again, they are a medium for the cannabis buyer, and can price their seeds at whatever price they choose...95% of the time that the price gets passed a few hundred..you cant buy or find genetics of the same lineage an it also could be an auction with multiple people bidding.

Then there's companies like Greenhouse seeds who claims to recreate original clone only strains... they end up with a lot of negative feedback because they play the capitalism game, and aren't in it for the consumer. BCSEEDS is the newest in discussion, they go to other countries and find strains that no one else sells, and makes a killing doing so. There are plenty of business' that play a role in this game, and we should respectively disagree with their ethics/business tactics...not slander them.

The cannabis clubs and caregivers are just the same, they make a killing providing patients with cannabis for a fixed price, while being able to grow that patients own 8 plants themselves. I agree paying more than $40 a seed is nuts... I wont even pay more than $40-$50 for a pack of 10-15 beans I just believe that scaring people with slanderous statements only creates, fear an starts a disinformation campaign. It creates "Sides"...which seem more like fake sides(Its politics; So think Democrat and Republican). It creates a stranglehold on the market...that allows for fake people to slide in and make their money.

so I again urge people to respectively disagree, and let the consumer consume what they please. The only thing you should do is try and educate them..to let them(The individual) make what they know to be(Is) the right decision; Please do not try and hand them over your own beliefs. it just makes things worse

is there a mechanic in the house?

hey everybody, i need some advice from a mechanic, and i thought, there is probably one on GP! so i thought if there is, then that person would be more reliable and less likely to 'rip me off', i have met some shady mechanics, so i am weary to say the least.

ok, here is the deal, i am a family man, so we have a 96 ford windstar, 3.8 v6.
a month or so ago, the trouble started. every now and then when we would pile into the van to go somewhere, the van would not start, it would try to turn over, then kinda 'clunk'. to fix this, i would pump the gas and crank it till it would start. i knew i needed to get it looked at, but money has been tight, so i put it off. bad decision on my part.

now, as of 3 days ago, it just 'clicks' when i try to start it, but only sometimes. there have been a couple of times when i turned the ignition, that there was no response, no sound, nothing.
the lights work, all the interior gizmos, etc. i have heard different 'theories', but i would rather talk to an actual mechanic.

so, if there is one here, help a member out! :D:

thanks in advance guys and girls.

Anyone have a handle on any mailing information?

Penn Museum - Penn Museum's Year 2012 Prediction (http://www.penn.museum/news-and-announcements/670-penn-museums-year-2012-prediction.html)
*
Penn Museum's 2012 Prediction?*

(Don't Stop Payments on Your Life Insurance Just Yet)

Prognostications for the year 2012 are piling up, with multiple books, magazine articles, and now a blockbuster movie (2012, in theaters November 13, 2009), all concerned with the topic. What is said is intriguing, and for some genuinely worrying, but how much of it has a basis in ancient Maya culture and belief? Specifically, did the Maya really predict that the world will end on December 21, 2012?

"Not at all," says Simon Martin, Associate Curator, American Section at the University of Pennsylvania Museum of Archaeology and Anthropology. A specialist in ancient Maya writing, he explains that this is simply the end date of one long cycle of time, and the beginning of another one. "The Maya made calculations spanning millions of years and the 5,200-year cycle that ends in 2012 is a rather short one. The date itself is mentioned only once in all the many thousands of Maya inscriptions, where it is used as an arbitrary anchor date for the matters under discussion and not associated with any particular prophesy. We know that the Maya believed in a world after 2012 since they mention events set well beyond this, with an inscription at Palenque, Mexico, describing one in the year 4772."

"Just remember," says Elin Danien, curator of the Museum's exhibition Painted Metaphors: Pottery and Politics of the Ancient Maya, "all calendars have arbitrary starting dates, created by different cultures to allow them to measure the passage of time in particular ways.

"The predictions of global calamity may be said to originate in deep antiquity, but they really stem from the troubles and anxieties of our own time. What is truly remarkable about the Maya," says Dr. Danien, "was their ability to create accurate calendars, and use a unique writing system to record their history, cosmology, and the events that shaped their world.

"Their real accomplishments can be seen at the Penn Museum, in objects displayed in the Central American Gallery and in Painted Metaphors. We don't have to create fantasies about them. They were an extraordinary people who developed a unique civilization that still fascinates the modern world."

Choline & Inositol

Lately Ive been trying to eliminate my crutch on addictive substances, and replace them with a solid foundation, or regiment of helpful substances. This lead me to one in particular which was supposed to help my short term memory loss. Well I can say after taking it for a few weeks that It can almost eliminate it; You dont have to try and mime whatever you want to communicate to another individual in those sober or very stoned moments.

Not only does it have this wondrous effect, it has countless others that Ive just started to notice!(Anti depressant, anti psychotic, anti anxiety, etc.) If you think the mental effects are something to discuss, first read this excerpt I grabbed from this website explaining the overall effects and benefits from taking Choline WITH Inositol(The two combined is the only way you should take it)!

Taken from CHOLINE & INOSITOL HouseOfNutrition.com (http://www.houseofnutrition.com/cholin.html)

What is Choline & Inositol?
In common with choline, Inositol is often regarded as a member of the B-complex of vitamins, although this is not strictly accurate. Both choline and Inositol, however, work in similar fashion to the B vitamins. Inositol is vital for the health of cell membranes and for the transmission of energy and nutrients between cells.
There is also evidence that abundant supplies of Inositol may enhance the action of vitamin E, one of the body's most important fat-soluble anti-oxidants. Inositol therefore not only reduces blood cholesterol but also helps prevent the oxidation of the low density lipids (LDL), or "bad cholesterol", which is a principal precursor of potentially lethal hardening of the arteries (atherosclerosis).

And it's not just in the reduction of potentially harmful blood fats that Inositol has a role to play. Taken together with choline, in the form of lecithin, Inositol stimulates the metabolic rate and thereby acts as a powerful fat-burner for many people whose excess weight is principally due to a slower than normal metabolism.

But for many nutritional therapists the most important functions of Inositol lie in the areas of mental health and brain function. The nutrient is widely used by practitioners to tackle problems with the nervous system, obsessive compulsive disorder, agorophobia, and anxiety and panic attacks; and there is also some preliminary, albeit inconclusive, evidence that supplementation with Inositol may help maintain cognitive function in sufferers from Alzheimer's disease.

Since the 1970s, doses of 1,000 mg a day of Inositol have also been used by practitioners in the relief and treatment of diabetic neuropathy, the nerve damage that is one of the most painful and debilitating consequences of this disease.

Research also suggests that high doses of 6 - 12 g of Inositol, taken over a period of several weeks, may help relieve the symptoms of depression; evidence which is borne out by the observation that the blood and brain levels of Inositol in sufferers from this condition are often much lower than normal.

Other deficiency symptoms, although it is hard to isolate a lack of Inositol as their only cause, may include cardio-vascular disease and high cholesterol, digestive problems, hair loss, irritability, mood swings, and skin eruptions.

Apart from lecithin, which is commonly granulated from soya beans, good food sources of Inositol are whole grains, wheatgerm,. meat, citrus fruits, nuts, rice and legumes (ie peas and beans). Moreover, the body is able to manufacture a certain amount of Inositol from the phytic acid released by the plant and other dietary fibres consumed in food.

So it would seem that a well-balanced, healthy diet, containing a selection of foods from the major groups, should provide at least an adequate supply of Inositol; and indeed there is evidence that most individuals in Western societies can obtain around 1,000 mg from their normal daily diet.

The problem, however, is that a significant proportion of the Inositol obtained from ordinary dietary sources is often rather poorly absorbed. And in common with the B-complex vitamins the nutrient is easily lost from the body; the consumption of excessive quantities of caffeine being a very common culprit in flushing it away.

Practitioners therefore commonly recommend supplementation with Inositol, a practice which is regarded as very safe. The US Food and Nutrition Board has prescribed neither a Recommended Dietary Allowance (RDA) nor an upper safe limit, but therapists normally suggest beginning with a dose of 500 mg to check individual tolerance and requirements.

This can be steadily increased to 1,500 mg or more for optimum general well-being and many people find granular lecithin, which also provides the benefits of choline, to be a pleasant and convenient way of obtaining this level of intake; given that a single teaspoonful will commonly provide around 100 mg of Inositol. But far higher doses of up to several grams a day may be prescribed for some of the specific conditions described above.

Like all other major nutrients, Inositol functions best when all the body's necessary nutrients are adequately supplied. But in the case of Inositol it is particularly important to ensure a good intake of vitamin C and all the B-complex vitamins; the action of vitamin C being vital in sparing and conserving the body's blood levels of Inositol.

Additional Information:
assists in controlling your weight as well as cholesterol levels, keeping cell membranes healthy and in preventing gallstones. It is also most useful in the maintenance of the nervous system, assisting memory and learning, and may help to fight infections, including hepatitis and AIDS. Choline is critical for normal membrane structure and function.

Choline:
is the major precursor of betaine, and it is used by the kidneys to maintain water balance and by the liver as a source of methyl-groups for methionine formation. It is also used to produce the important neurotransmitter acetylcholine.

It assists in nerve impulse transmission, gallbladder regulation, liver functions and lecithin production.

Inositol:
plays an important part in the health of cell membranes especially the specialized cells in the brain, bone marrow, eyes and intestines. The function of the cell membranes is to regulate the contents of the cells, which makes effective functioning possible.

Inositol is said to promote healthy hair, hair growth, and helps in controlling estrogen levels and may assist in preventing breast lumps. *Or in the case of the cannabis consumer, limits our systems intake and output of Estrogen

It may also be of benefit in reducing blood cholesterol levels.

Taken from CHOLINE & INOSITOL HouseOfNutrition.com

Last night, I was showing a friend some small pieces of pipestone that I had just cut from a slab. I explained how I had noticed a dovetail pull saw (cuts on the pull stroke) in my shop, and thought I'd try it to cut the stone.

Turns out, it works WAY better than a hacksaw. It also leaves a very smooth cut edge.

She asked about drilling the holes. How is it done? I told her the process of flattening a couple sides and edges, clamping and lining up for drilling on the drill press. And, what a pita it usually is.

Within my reach, was my cordless drill. It had a short bit already installed.

"What do you suppose the odds are, of getting the holes to go straight, and meet where they are supposed to?", I asked, holding the drill in my right hand and a piece of stone in the other.

"Can't see it happening", she said.

We talked, while I aimed the bit, started drilling, stopped, re-aimed, resumed drilling, etc.

I drilled the first and usually the longest hole. The bit was only about an inch and a half long, so it didn't go as deep as I would have liked. But, it looked to be fairly straight and in the center of the piece.

I marked a starting point for the smoke hole, on the top. To have a chance of meeting the first hole, the smoke hole would have to be angled, because of the short bit. The smoke hole will have to be canted, but, that's just fine.

I aimed, started drilling, etc.

When the bit was as deep as it would go, I had to stop.

We were laughing, that I would even try such a thing. I raised the drilled piece of stone to my mouth and blew into one of the holes to clear the dust. Dust came out of the other hole.

The two holes came together, perfectly centered. If I hadn't been sitting, I would have fallen down. It was absolutely, amazing.

Sometime today, I am going to try it again. I can't imagine it happening twice.

Ecstasy, LSD and cannabis are less dangerous than alcohol and cigarettes, the Government’s chief drug adviser claims today.

Professor David Nutt (http://explore.dailymail.co.uk/people/nutt_david) is calling for a new ‘index of harm’ to warn the public about the relative dangers of various substances.

He says alcohol should rank fifth, behind only cocaine, heroin, barbiturates and methadone, while tobacco should rank ninth, ahead of cannabis, LSD and Ecstasy.

His comments are likely to prove explosive, given the seniority of his position. Professor Nutt has also courted controversy in the past - by suggesting taking ecstasy was no more dangerous than riding a horse.

Just wanted to share a bit of info I learned reading the Oregonian over my coffee this morning!!! Portland is soon to have it's second medical marijuana users cafe, in fact, it's supposed to be only the second IN THE NATION!! The "Cannabis Cafe" will be opening at 420pm on Fri. Nov. 13th, and the first "Smoke-Easy" as they are referred to in the article, "Highway 420" has been open since OCT. 1 2009.
Fruit Bat Fellatio! (No Kidding)

*Fruit bats use oral sex to prolong the deed*
Scientists say behavior represents an X-rated first for adult non-humans

When they do their thing, female Chinese fruit bats add oral sex to get the males to prolong the act, scientists now find, suggesting the behavior confers evolutionary benefits.

Oral sex, or fellatio, is often used in human foreplay, the researchers noted, but rarely seen in other animals. As such, there have been few evolutionary reasons given for oral sex to date, and fellatio is largely thought confined to humans, although juvenile members of the chimpanzee-like bonobo do it for play.

Now scientists find the short-nosed fruit bat (Cynopterus sphinx) routinely engages in oral sex, the first time fellatio has been seen in adult animals other than humans. The researchers argue the act likely has evolutionary benefits... "It was difficult to provide some hypotheses for the function of the fellatio behavior," Zhang said. "We held many meetings to discuss the functions."

i'm sitting here at my desk, as always, watching a Lee Evans comedy special and toking away.
my routine is to break out a few buds, break them up on my desk on a section i have designated for that purpose. i keep a supply of alcohol wipes just to clean that area. this always works, and makes me feel beeter as i know the only thing entering my body is the smoke and THC. which is good.

so, as i was saying, i have a pile of bud on the table, maybe a gram and half.
i clean the bowl, run my pick through the center to clear any resin debris, then i take the bowl and press it into the pile to pack the bowl. i do this religiously, nothing new there.

so i sit back and take a nice deep toke. nothing unusual. i exhale, and taste oatmeal. i'm sitting here at my desk, sipping sweet tea, watching this funny little British comedian run around the stage like crazy, trying to figure out why i taste oatmeal. it's strange, but no harm done, so no worries.
so i took another toke. nothing unusal. more oatmeal, and now a strange smell that i can only describe as acrid. what the hell?

i look at the bowl and there is just the smallest piece of what looks like one of my arm hairs. ewww. yuck. so i fish it out of the bowl and debate as to whether or not i should finish it. it's really dry around here, so i finished.

and i am high as hell. which is always a good thing.
so, smoking a hair. is that some sort of cannabilism on a molecular level?
can you accrue any bad karma by doing that? am i crazy? paranoid?

well, after realizing i wasn't typing and was staring at a water bottle on my desk, that i have to conclude that i am simply stoned off my ass.

what were we talking about?

:D:
