funny you said slow because a real bonzai plant takes a long slow process. basically bonzai is a term for pruning a plant. theres a thread here somewhere that states "a real bonzai grow" is one with a root bound plant. dont know exactly why all i know is what you do is start from about a small plant or clone. top it till it grows two branches. then top it again and wait for it to grow back 4 more, and so on. some tie down lower branches and let them grow in different shapes. bonzai is also about expression. you look at the plant and it almost tells you what should be cut to get the shape you are looking for. - thats something i learned from the second karate kid!
