this is the way i understand it, for what its worth. bubble or ice water hash, breaks the trichs off the plant and collects them in the bag. with a butane extraction it basically dissolves the trichs into the butane as well as the small amount of whatever may be in the plant matter and collects it in the glass plate as oil. so the butane tends to be a bit more potent, also because theres less contaminant matter to get mixed in too.
now as far as water extraction left overs being used for butane extraction. i spose it could be possible, but i dont think it would be worth the trouble for the small return. as well as the material for butane extraction has to be totally completely bone dry, so the remains would have to be dried as well, just adding to the trouble. all that said, i run my trim at least 3 times thru, sometimes 4 if its producing, and throw it out. to me, its not worth the hassle of doing all the extra with it after making bubble. thats all just how i see it. |
